Estalagem De Colares

"My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights recently. I haven't been back to Sintra for nearly 30 years and really wanted somewhere outside of Sintra's historic centre from which to explore the region again. This hotel was perfect. It hasn't been open for long and whilst that is apparent, it didn't detract from our stay. The location in Colares was perfect. Nestled on the main road to the coast, it is surrounded by lush forest at the foot of the hills on the banks of a beautifully wild river making it a perfect base to explore. The rooms were newly refurbished and were clean and comfortable with quality linen, furnishings and fixtures. Our room was in the separate building towards the back of the property in the grounds of the beautiful, slightly wild, work-in-progress gardens. The owner, Anvar, his wife, and his wonderful staff, were excellent hosts. Hospitable, warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were good, especially when served outside on a gorgeous summer day but be aware, if you're a meat eater, that it is vegetarian. The overall vibe is somewhere between a small boutique hotel and a guesthouse so don't expect hotel vibes. The atmosphere is quiet, intimate and unobtrusive which is perfect for those seeking bucolic respite. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and I will definitely be back when I need to recharge my batteries. Great job and thank you for a wonderful stay."

"Perfekt boende för storfamiljen! Huset och poolområdet är finare än vad bilderna visar. Perfekt med många badrum och utekök. Sandra var en jättebra värd som lät oss checka in tidigare än utsatt tid, vi möttes av välkomstmingel och fick en massa bra tips på restauranger. Kontakten med värden var smidig inför och under vistelsen. Ett ytterligare plus var att vi fick låna handdukar till poolen och huset var utrustat med en del sortiment till köket och rena handdukar, hygienartiklar när det behövdes. Huset ligger mycket nära stor mataffär och trevliga restauranger. Hyr bil och det finns massvis med stränder och utflykter att ta sig an."

"We had an excellent stay! Our group consisted of 9 adults plus a small child and the accommodations worked perfectly for us. House was very clean with enough bedrooms and bathrooms to make everyone comfortable. Host's nephew lives nearby and was very helpful with checking in/out and handling any last minute questions. Great communication from the host as well. Beach and restaurants were a 5-10 minute walk away - lovely and convenient to be able to walk to lunch or dinner. Several of our group enjoyed morning runs on the beach and there is a beautiful 100m pool within walking distance where morning lap swim (for a small fee) was also available. House amenities exactly as described in the listing. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean from the main living/eating area. Would stay here again and highly recommend!"
