Fantastic for family with teens

We loved the location. We are a couple with 2 teens and had plenty of room in the hotel to relax and have meals together. It is very clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic! It was a 2 minute walk to Plaza San Marco.

Fenice in name only.

This sister hotel to Hotel Fenice feels like an afterthought. The Hotel Fenice staff seemed uninterested in having anything to do with this secondary property. That said, the rooms were big and there was a kitchenette. If you want a hotel experience opt for the HOTEL version of Fenice. If a hands-off apartment-style stay is what you're after, this may be a good value for you.

Great Location, Terrible Room

Room advertised with air conditioning, but that was completely broken in the room. We were there in April, and I can only imagine how terrible that would be in a hotter month. Slept with the windows open, which led to bugs and a lot of noise outside. Hotel staff for the Piccola Fenice is only available 9am-6pm, which are exactly the hours that you likely will not be in your room as you explore Venice. The regular Hotel La Fenice seemed nicer and the staff there were very helpful - you could go there for guidance but they weren’t very helpful for rooms in the Piccola. The negative aspects of the smokers room are to be expected based on the advertisement, but it seemed to have basically been entirely neglected in cleaning because of this. Would look for other options if staying in Venice.

Quiet hotel Close to attractions

Nice small hotel off main streets that is difficult to find on your own. Staff is very helpful and carefully guides you to the location. Be aure staff is available. They are only there at very limited times and not on Sunday.

Hidden Gem

A little hard to find but a great area and a good little hotel that did everything we needed it to do. I would definitely stay there on a return trip. Easy quick walk to all the major landmarks on the grand canel.

It has a good location but a little difficult to find and access considering some stairs on the alleys that you have to deal with in getting there. The apartment with a sofa bed was not very comfortable though.

Een eigen appartement in Venetie

Centrale locatie, schone, ruime kamers. We hadden een slaapkamer en een woonkamertje met kitchenette. Sleutel van de voordeur krijg je mee, zo heb je het gevoel een eigen appartement te hebben midden in de stad!

Posizione ottima

Posizionato in una posizione fantastica, lontano dalla confusione ma vicino sia al ponte di rialto, che a San Marco e naturalmente al teatro la Fenice. È un posto che non presenta sicuramente un arredamento moderno ma neanche antico, solo vecchio e usato ma tutto molto pulito. Internet è presente ma la connessione salta facilmente. Nell'appartamento c'è un microonde e un bollitore dell'acqua ma avrei gradito che avessero lasciato anche delle bustine per farsi un caffè o un tè. Tenendo in considerazione che è la depandance di un hotel a 4 stelle (hotel la Fenice Er Des artists) mi sarei aspettata molto di più.

First time in Venice, arrived at midnight; at first seemed a little daunting going through quiet dimly light alleyways which twist & turn into more alleyways-something which you would never ever do in London, but after 5 nights there;it was very safe. The hotel emailed directions for us from how to get to there from the airport which was fantastic as it would have been very difficult to find using google map. We were heard about the smell in the summer & mosquitos but surprisingly it was not the case, there were the odd one but nothing to worry about as we came prepared with mosquito spray & bracelets. Summer in Venice is very hot (30s) but made much more uncomfortable with the crowds throughout the whole day. It's quite a expensive location, public water bus costs around €7 pp each trip and you need to look out for cover charge in some restaurants which varies between €1.5 -€3 pp on top of your bill. Fantastic place for shopping especially leather bags & belts. Overall, it's a beautiful city and very unique. We even managed day trips to Lake Garda & Verona!

Hôtel correct et propre. 2 pieces avec kitchenette. Très bien situé et facile à trouver. Un peu viellot comme décors... mais ça reste sympathique. Seule mini-hic - shampoing et savon très cheap...

O Hotel só possui recepção das 8:00 ás 18:00, após este horário é necessário retirar chaves e auxílio em outro hotel a 50m. Elevador não funciona e fica parando no meio da subida, precisa ter calma e seguir as dicas ja anotadas no elevador para funcionar. Quartos com imóveis antigos mas bem limpo e arrumado e com muito espaço e lugar bem tranquilo. Localização próxima à praça de São Marcos, porém longe de mercadinhos.

mini appartamento in hotel

hotel accogliente,a due passi dal teatro "LA FENICE" personale molto disponibile, più che una camera è un mini appartamento con salottino, angolo cottura con microonde, bagno non grandissimo ma pulito e con tutti i comfort, camera grandissima e pavimento in parquet. La camera inoltre dispone di climatizzatore in tutti gli ambienti. Consigliato per famiglie.

Рядом с Сент.-Марко, что позволяет быстро дойти до него. Недалеко до двух мостов через Большой канал. Внутри уютно: огромные потолки, внутренний дворик, забавный неторопливый лифт (достаточно вместительный), приятная мебель в холле. Номеров по три штуки на двух этажах. Номер достаточно просторный, наиболее комфортабелен для двоих, поскольку при раскладывании дополнительных спальных мест полезная площадь резко сокращается. Имеется небольшая кухонька с чайником, кофеваркой и микроволновой. Холодильник есть, плиты не было. Для завтрака нормально. Рядом большое количество пиццерий и ресторанов, в двух шагах небольшой магазинчик со всем необходимым. Персонал только с 9 с хвостиком до 13.00. В другое время надо идти до их головного отеля. До него идти недолго. Перед заездом присылают подробное описание, как найти, что важно, поскольку в Венеции все очень запутанно и можно свернув чуть не туда пытаться найти верный путь минут 10. Убирают чисто и аккуратно. Ванная комната удобная и большая. Есть канальный кондиционер, даже слегка регулируемый. Отель вполне приятный, можно рекомендовать.

Elegance & charm hidden in a tiny calle

Lovely room with high ceilings, good air conditioning, charming old furniture and handy little kitchen for making coffee and snacks. Bathroom facilities all fine. Nearby is the Hostaria da Galileo where are reasonably priced meal of high quality can be found. Recommend the Lamb with piquant sauce accompanied by the Rose. Also close to San Marcos, Rialto Bridge and transport options. Venice is a treat, great shopping, great food but it smells a bit. One warning though the elevator at the Piccola Fenice is very very slow hey but who is in a hurry. I highly recommend this place.

Reasonably priced hotel near St Mark's Square

Our only complaint with the hotel was trying to find it. From the time we arrived at the train station, got oriented, took the water taxi and finally checked in, two hours were wasted!! It was extremely difficult finding the hotel due in part to the fact that our print out from Expedia did not have the street address. We were given incorrect directions at the tourist center by the train station. (Future guests note: the closest water bus stop is "Angelo" which is literally a five minute walk to the hotel once acclimated to the streets.) No locals knew where the hotel was located, except that it had to be in the "Fenice" area. Finally, a young man who lives in the area assisted us by using his GPS to track down the location of the hotel. But beware: the check in desk has very limited hours. Upon our arrival, we were meet with a locked front door and a note in Italian to check in at the Hotel La Fenice et des Artistes, evidently the parent hotel. Again, there was no address to the Hotel La Fenice, and we only located by sheer luck: an Australian couple opened the door at our moment of giving up. (Although we were not informed in writing or at check-in, being a guest at the Piccola Fenice entitles guests to a lovely complimentary breakfast at the Hotel La Fenice.) The good news is that the Piccola Fenice is a 10 minute walk to St Mark's Square, and despite outside appearances, has very clean rooms at reasonable rates.
