Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located location. Enjoy your own private guest house, with your own private spacious yard and full bathroom and full kitchen with a touch of elegance and luxury. Close to everything! 7 minutes to the beach. 8 minutes to downtown Ventura. less then 15 min to Ojai. One block from Sulphur mountain hiking trail. one block to Ojai bike trail. 7 minutes to Lake Casitas. Very comfortable Tempur-pedic adjustable bed and nice pillows.

The property itself was ok. The real problem was that it was not cleaned between guests. The bed was not made, the trash was not emptied and there wete still wet towels in the shower.

Cottage in Rustic Ojai-Ventura Setting
The cottage is well maintained with one notable exception and we found clean though smelling of cigarette smoke that was present and dissipated throughout the duration of our two-night stay. The latch on the gate in front of the cottage locked into place leaving us unable to get off the porch and out of the yard. The owner found us quickly after we got stuck and opened the latch from the outside. The latch needs a small fix to avoid this potentially big headache. The bed is very comfortable. Kitchen is minimally equipped. We had barely enough towels for two people and no washcloths for the shower. The setting is rustic, in small farmland. While a quiet neighborhood, there were roosters on the property and/or on adjacent properties, that started crowing at dawn every morning. I used earplugs on the second night of my visit to block the roosters awakening me early during my weekend getaway.

Just what I was looking for
This cottage is located in a cozy neighborhood. Lots of farm animals so expect to hear the roosters. We closed the windows at night and slept just fine. The fenced back yard was perfect for our senior dogs. Full kitchen was well stocked. I was wanting a place that provided privacy and was out of the city. I would stay again for sure.

Quiet and remote
Quaint spot for some time away. Recommend having a car as it's a bit outside of town. Great space. Nice host. So grateful for the time.

Needed a place to stay for a few days while house was being fumigated. Found this nice little cottage with kitchen, small private yard, and all essentials. Perfect for a few days stay. Much nicer and convenient than a hotel room - especially with two small dogs.

Property was easy to find and away from the hustle of the city for peace and quiet but still close enough to go to the beach or into town for a meal. Inside of the property was immaculate; the outside courtyard was great but would have like the chairs and table to have been a little cleaner (lots of cobwebs and dust). The one drawback was the A/C unit from the other rental shattered the peaceful courtyard when they turned it on.
