I stayed for four nights and had a wonderful visit! Staff was there when I needed them, my room was cleaned daily and the location was perfect! There were restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, an elevator, places to shop at and the 43 and 44 tram line literally stop outside your front door! It was like haviiong my own apartment for my whole trip. Free WiFi that worked very well, ensuite bathroom that had a large shower, with toiletries included, a television (though I rarely watch TV on holiday) and had an in room safe (that I didn't utilize). I was thoroughly impressed with this place and would stay again upon my next visit to Vienna! I can see it's not for everyone. It's not a 5 star place, even though that's what I'm giving it. If you want the Marriott, pay for the Marriott. I don't mind staying in places that are "off the beaten path," and as I don't spend much time IN the hotel, my standards are simple. Clean bed, clean bathroom and near public transport. The only suggestion I have is mention to the owners of the building that there needs to be some light in the entrance and by the elevator. There are stairs there that should be illuminated and although I didn't feel it, I could see some guests being creeped out because It was VERY dark coming in late and leaving early in the AM. Thanks Astra for the lovely stay!

Cheap and cheerful.Good location. 20mins walk to centre of Vienna. Easy check-in with friendly staff. Not so good - bad sound-proofing, so very easy to hear everything in next-door room. Male guest in next room 'entertained' several ladies each night with accompanying noise - Awful !! I don't know if this was a one-off or if this hotel is renowned for this.

Klein und praktisch gelegen

Kleines Hotel im zweiten Stock in der Nähe des Hauptbahnhofs. Freundliches Personal. Einfache, kleine Zimmer. Gut, wenn es nur ums Übernachten geht Dusche, WC, Föhn. Wer MAPS.ME verwendet: Das Hotel ist um einen Block falsch eingezeichnet. Auf Google maps ist es richtig. Man muss an der Haustür klingeln: Albergo Bergamo.

Great stay, staff were amazing

Really enjoyed our stay here, the staff make a hotel and the lady working in reception was amazing, so helpful and went the extra mile to Malen our stay as pleasant as possible, very spacious clean rooms and very reasonable reasonable price, would strongly recommend.

No TV no radio no clock no community sitting room with books or tv. No coffee and tea making facility although there was a room which had all those things but it was marked "storage room". Lights were pretty poor and room stuffy. Entry step to shower very high

Convenient location

The shared toilet was disappointing, I'm not sure if this was made clear at time of booking. The room was small with no view. On the plus side the staff were friendly and helpful. The main positive is access to public transport as the Alser Strasse metro stop is in close proximity and the tram stops outside the hotel.

Hotel/Pension Astra

The Hotel/Pension Astra is a basic accommodation, but located in a good area. Close to several parts of the University of Vienna and there is a good tram line that connects you to two metro lines. They advertise breakfast, but no longer do it for guests. You can get breakfast at café restaurants close by. For the price, it is a good place to stay. Nothing fancy, but it is not designed to be. The staff are very nice. There is not always someone at the reception desk, but there is a number to call if you need something urgently.

Nie wieder!

Dreckig, heruntergekommen, eklig - wofür dieses Hotel 3 Sterne verliehen bekommen hat, ist mir schleierhaft. Zimmer unsauber, Bad eklig. noch die Haare der anderen Gäste an den Fließen im Bad kleben. Löcher in Decke, Wänden und Bettwäsche, Putze bröckelte von der Decke. Gesäubert wurde nur einmal in 5 Tagen und das sehr oberflächlich. Heizung funktionierte nicht richtig, Rezeption war dauerhaft unbesetzt. Das Hotel ist ein Zustand!

Gode gammeldagse rom med dusj på rommet og toalett i gangen. Hyggelig vertinne som man kan spørre om info og til råds. 10-15 minutters spasertur til severdighetene. Lett tilgang til kollektivtransport. Spisesteder og dalivarebutikker i umiddelbar nærhet.. Det er ikke frokost på frokost på hotellet, men man kan forsyne seg med kaffe og te, og der en spisekrok for medbragt mat. Rommene har vindu mot bakgården, så det er minimalt med støy. Det er et rimelig hotell som kan anbefales.

Very shoddy and weird

I needed a place to stay because my usual hotel was fully booked, and Pension Astra looked like it would be OK. It was more like staying in a boarding house where you had to do most of the room cleaning up yourself. The place was dingy and shoddy, the rooms were not well lit, much of the bedding smelled like it wasn't washed or had been laying there a long time, and the wireless internet was a joke. I don't know what they mean about a restaurant, all I saw was some dirty kitchen, and there was no way I was going to eat there. They charged a lot, but I guess it was because of the location. This might be an OK place for a lot of people in a large room to split the costs, but otherwise, don't bother.
