Good Hotel but walk to subway.

We stayed on the second floor and that's OK. This hotel has no elevator. It has a total of 5 floors. We walked to and from the hotel to the city's transportation. Three blocks was not too far. The hotel staff was always able to help us with finding our next place of interest. They had good maps and info for us.

pleasant and convenient at a good value

We stayed 5 nights here. Location is very close to U-bahn and Tram service. Light breakfast was convenient, and the street and hotel were very quiet. A computer is available for use in the small breakfast room. (The bathroom towel warmer bar was a useful feature - Warm in the morning to dry your towels.) Staff was friendly and helpful - made our stay very pleasant.

Non conseillé aux personnes à mobilité réduite car il n'y pas d'ascenseur dans l'hotel. L'insonorisation des chambres n'a pas retenu l'attention des propriétaires. On entend ses voisins (éternuement, passage sous la douche). Mais uniquement sur le même palier (à moins que les chambres au dessus étaient vides). Un point positif une station de tram et de métro ne sont pas loin de l'hotel. (à moins de 5mn). Permettant d'accèder facilement au centre ville ou au château de Schonnbrunn.

Per un 2 stelle, più che buono!

Uniche note stonate: la puzza di sigaretta dentro la camera quando siamo arrivati, che comunque è andata via dopo aver areato il locale, e la mancanza del bidet nel bagno. Colazione spartana (ma per noi andava benissimo!). Posizione tranquilla, in strada poco trafficata. Stazione della metropolitana ad un paio di isolati (ma noi siamo sempre arrivati in centro, e ritornati, a piedi!). Personale gentilissimo e disponibile.

Gutes Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis

Das Hotel hat seine besten Zeiten sicher schon hinter sich. Aber es ist alles sauber, das Personal ist freundlich und die Lage optimal. Parken im Hof um EUR 10,-/Tag ist in "Parkpickerl-Zeiten" durchaus vertretbar.

Molto gentili all'accoglienza, hotel non troppo distante dal centro, buono il servizio wifi. Due piccole imperfezioni: mancanza dell'ascensore e moquette nelle camere che sa odore di fumo.

Angenehmer Aufenthalt in Wien

Der Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch die Tips zu Sehenswürdigkeiten und der Hinweis auf die Wochenkarte für die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel war prima. Unser Fahrzeug stand sicher im Hof und wurde, dank Wochenkarte, die ganze Woche nicht bewegt. Es war ein schöner Urlaub in Wien.

Gentilezza, pulizia, ma poco spazio.

Punti negativi: camera piccola non condizionata (durante il nostro soggiorno c'erano 35° C a Vienna e si sentiva!). Il buffet a colazione era un po' scarno (thé e caffé caldi, succo d'arancia e latte freddi, marmellata, formaggio, prosciutto, cereali, yogurt, burro e pane). Punti positivi: wifi gratuito in camera, computer connesso a internet a disposizione nella sala, personale sempre disponibile e cortese, pulizia, ambiente tranquillo e possibilità di lasciare gratuitamente in custodia i bagagli nel corso dell'ultima giornata. Fermata della metro U6 Alserstrasse a 300 metri e del tram 43 a 100 metri.

A nice surprise

I chose the Stalehner based on price and was hopeful that it would work out ok. The place was ok. The staff was very nice and helpful, even though their english wasn't great. I would stay here again.

Fine service and good location

Ekstra payment for parking 10 Euro/Day. Breakfast was included, but also low standard. The receptionists were very helpful, and the hotel is close to the City of Vienna

Kleines, minimal-funktions-erfüllendes Zimmer, saubere Handtücher. ABER: Man sollte nicht mehr mit dem großen Namen hausieren gehen. Es ist nichts Großes übrig geblieben. Brummende Entlüftungsrohre zur einen, Straße zur anderen Seite. Es gab nicht mal Handwaschseife im Badezimmer. Das Zimmer heizte sich auf 32°auf, keine Luftzirkulationsmöglichkeiten, das Pesonal ist freundlich aber ahnungslos (was ist das "Belvedere"?), die aufgebackenen Brötchen waren z. T. Innen noch roh.

Walking distance from city train station

The folks at Stalehner are friendly and helpful. The staff who checked us in did warn about the airconditioner. She was very honest. We insisted on a room with aircondition as we booked it. The air conditioning is NOT at all sufficient. It blows more like a fan than an airconditioner. There is NO elevator and we stayed on the top floor - two floors up - quite a climb with bags! Such details of no elevator and poor airconditioning should have been included.

nice hotel, in small alley, no major shopping attractions around, no enough dinning options. the breakfast is modest... limited options. free WiFi... Ok, but extremely slow. Staff any very nice, and helpful.

Disappointing

Hotel Stalehner was disappointing. The staff were not very helpful. We had a car and wanted to put it in the car park but the receptionist said it was full, however, we could see it from the entrance that it was empty. Only one car there. In our room the carpet was black with dirt over the years. New carpet wouldnt go amiss. There were no coffee and tea making facilities or a fridge.. Having said all this there was breakfast provided - basic. The bathroom was ok. It was a tram ride to the city centre which was easy to get. It was also cheap. It could be a really lovely old hotel if some upgrades were done.

weekend a vienna

Hotel accogliente, personale molto ospitale (anche se, ahimè, qualcuno con un inglese poco ricco!!) e gentile, vicinanza dal centro buona ma preferibile prendere la metro per gli spostamenti. Sicuramente Vienna, per chi ama visitare musei e chiese, risulterà abbastanza grande quindi consiglio l'acquisto della Vienna Card (anche se per trovare qualcuno che la venda bisogna farsi i km). Per quel che riguarda ancora l'hotel avrei gradito una prima colazione più ricca, quella che offrono è decisamente poco varia. Inoltre, non c'è l'ascensore, ahimè. ma si può utilizzare Internet free! Nell'insieme, però, è risultato un hotel molto gradevole e personale estremamente gentile!

Hotel Stalehner calme et simplicité

Hôtel très agréable. L'accueil est sympathique et efficace. Le lieu est très calme et donne sur une rue avec peu de circulation, toutefois il est situé à moins de 5 min à pied du métro. Chambre confortable et propre, seuls petits bémols la déco un peu datée et l'absence de savonnette dans la salle de bain (attention à ne pas oublier la trousse de toilette!) Le petit déjeuner continental est classique, en libre service mais peu de choix pour varier. Le Wifi est disponible gratuitement, il suffit de demander le code à l'accueil. Dans l'ensemble un bon lieu de séjour.

Simple hotel, no trimmings but quite comfortable. Shower would be small for a big person, and two bed room would be small for two. Not close to town but fairly easy train access, big supermarket around the corner

einfaches Stadthotel

Kleines, ruhiges, sauberes Hotel - für Städteurlaub ok. Unschön fand ich, dass wir als Paar mit 2 unverrückbaren Einzelbetten im Doppelzimmer vorlieb nehmen mussten. Die Rezeptionskräfte waren wechselnd zuvorkommend, da war von extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit bis deutlich gelangweilt alles dabei. Frühstück war einfach, der Kaffee war stark, aber genießbar.

gradevole hotel, ottimo il rapporto qualità/prezzo

l'hotel dista circa 200 metri dalla fermata della metro Alsergasse (linea marrone) il che permette di raggiungere il centro in 20 minuti circa (occorre cambiare linea in arancione o verde)....comodissimo! in alternativa c'è il tram 43/44 che porta in 10 minuti in zona Rathaus. la vera nota positiva di questo hotel è il personale, gentilissimo e disponibile...inoltre la reception è aperta 24 h su 24 quindi non ci sono problemi in caso di rientri notturni. ottimo il rapporto qualità/prezzo: non aspettatevi grandi cose ma c'è tutto quello che occorre...camere e bagni puliti, cambio biancheria quotidiano e connessione ad internet ad alta velocità oltre ad una discreta colazione inclusa nel prezzo (caffè, thè, formaggio/prosciutto, aranciata, corn flakes, yogurt e marmellate, pane). lo consiglio a famiglie e coppie non troppo pretenziose.

comodo e pulito

base di partenza eccellente per tour di 3 o 4 giorni a vienna,comodo per trasporti e per supermercati e locali per mangiare vicini.Personale gentile,tengono valige anche ultimo giorno di permanenza a chi rimane anche tutto l'ultimo giorno a visitare e parte la sera.
