Ok property, ok staff. These are serviced apartments so not the same service as a hotel. A bit noisy. Sound come from other rooms. WIFI was terrible. Internet access dropped out often and sometimes for long periods. Would not stay there again.

The room was spacious as we reserved the 2 bedroom executive suite. The property was clean and it was nice to have in unit laundry since our stay was quite long. The pool was great and so was the daily breakfast buffet. The staff were nice and professional. The location was a bit of a challenge as there were not a lot of good restaurants within walking distance and hardly any street vendors. We like to eat local food when we travel. Other than that, our stay was pleasant.

I was never disappointed with the service at Somerset. I have been to this hotel for the last three years. Very nice staff, quick check-in. Housing keeping is awesome!

The guy who checked us in the afternoon was not very helpful, welcoming or accomodating. He's more like a robot than a person. He made us felt that he's doing us a favour by staying in their hotel. Our 1st night was a horrible sleepless night due to the noise and uncomfortable room. However we were so lucky that the next day there was a nice and helpful guy Phetsamai who, with the help of his manager, assisted us with our issues and we were upgraded to a better room. Thanks heaps Phetsamai! The free use of the laundry room was great and the pool was simply relaxing after touring around on a hot day. Easy walk to town. Thanks to Em at the reception who has also been very kind and helpful during our stay.

Many Problems
I was disappointed with this property. I booked a 2-bedroom unit, and my biggest complaint was the many mosquitoes in the room when we checked-in and although we tried smashing them all between our clapping hands, more continued showing up during our 4-day stay even though we kept the doors and windows closed. We were also greeted with a dirty rag on the bathroom counter that a housekeeper had left and a half-full water bottle on the balcony with a cigarette bud floating in it. The washing machine in the room was disgusting… black mold growing all over the rubber door gasket, and it smelled terrible. The room's safety box stopped working, so a hotel engineer unbolted the old box and replaced it with another one. The next day, the replacement safety box would not open, and the engineer could not find the physical key that is used to open the box when the electronic mechanism stops working, so they had to physically destroy the box door with a hammer, chisel, and hacksaw blade to retrieve my valuables. Lastly, the beds were too hard and the wi-fi was unreliable and very slow. There was no effort by hotel management to apologize for these problems and I will not be returning.

Normally, we conduct mosquito fogging every week every Wednesday, but during winter season mosquitoes tend to increase not only our property, but also Vientiane itself. However, we increased to purchase mosquito traps to expel mosquitoes. Also, we are conducting to increase mosquito fogging in these days. Plus, we already conducted our housekeeping, Engineering, and Guest Service training to monitor and check rooms correctly to maintain room properly. Again we apologize inconvenience caused and experienced unhappy experience with us.

A spacious apartment
We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment at the front of the complex. Traffic noise was bad, particularly early in the morning. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. We were there for six days and it was good to have the extra living space that a standard hotel room does not have. Our apartment had a fully equipped kitchen that catered for two people. The breakfast was OK, but basic, but there were better breakfast options in the area. Staff were efficient and helpful and spoke good English. The large swimming pool was clean but very cold, which was refreshing after a hot day. Mosquitoes were a problem throughout Vientiane and the hotel fogged once a week. We would stay here again.

This is a great place with all the amenities you could ask for. Swmming pools, sauna and fitness room. The staff was very courteous and spoke very good english. The only problem i had was inconsistency with the wifi. I was on the 6th floor and the last day i couldnt connect. I would have given them a 10/10 but the wifi issue dropped them 2 points for me. I have a business in the states and not having consistent wifi is quite a problem. I could have worked in the lobby but thats just an inconvenience.

Great surprise
It was a great stay. We got in a little early and they let us check in early. From the moment we were there to the moment we left everyone was extremely helpful. The hotel room was a bit more spacious than we needed which was a great surprise. Next time we are in Vientiane we will stay here.

Good for a calm stay
The lacation is close to the airport, but a bit far from other facilities. e.g. local restaurant... Room condition is good, but you should not expect breakfast. And I was embrassed when I went the restaurant for breakfast because of Mosquitos.

Dear Sung Ho, Thank you for your comment. Our location is close to airport, but not located at central area of Vientiane capital city tourist zone. However, recently Vientiane city tourist area is expaning to west part where is close to our area. By walking to this area takes only around 5 minutes to reach. Those new area have many new restaurants and bars. Our breakfast is continental breakfast instead of American breakfast nevertheless number of food choices is limited. However, we serve more local touch of food choices and menus.
