Renovated farmhouse in idyllic rural setting with pool and magnificent views

  • Lovely 4 bedroom renovated stone farmhouse in an idyllic rural setting in the hills of northern Portugal. Within easy reach of Porto airport, 90 kms away. A place to get away from it all and completely unwind. Be as lazy or as active as you like. Ideal for those who love the countryside, authentic areas and the great outdoors. Hills and forests on your doorstep. 20 minutes to the scenic river Minho on the border with Spain. 25 minutes to beautiful blue-flag, white-sand beaches. Large secluded garden on terraces with pool, barbecue area and magnificent views of the valley and surrounding hills. Sleeps 9, ideal for families and groups. Spacious and fully-equipped open-plan kitchen/living room. 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Central-heating in all rooms, plus two log fireplaces. Table football and games in the adega (old winery) where there is also a bar and extra dishwasher. This games room leads out onto the barbecue area with a large outside dining table under the olive tree, with views across the valley to the mountains. Large selection of books in English. The salt water pool is fenced in with lockable gates, and this also has panoramic views. There are lots of nice walks in the area, straight out of the house. And there's much to explore in the area, from beaches, rivers and mountains, to old villages, farmer markets and restaurants. As day trips, Porto, Peneda-Gerês National Park and Galicia in Spain are all good ideas. We're officially registered for tourism as an Alojamento Local. We've been doing holiday rentals here since 2008 and we've had lots of happy guests. Summer is the most popular time to visit, but it's a lovely place to visit year-round.

Lovely Villa, great location.

My family consisted five adults, two children aged 5 and two infants. The Villa is in a beautiful location on a hillside overlooking a valley, if you are seeking seclusion, peace and quiet and out of the rat race, this is for you. A very well appointed Villa, well equipped a lovely pool and garden area that the kids really enjoyed and is ideal for barbecues. The owner Adria was lovely too, very helpful and her attention to detail was great. Would certainly recommend this place to others. Ray and family August 2022

Wonderful place

We loved our week in this fabulous place. The house is really comfortable and well-equipped, with lots of different places to sit and eat outside or enjoy the wonderful view. We much appreciated the many small extra touches which made us feel at home, including fresh bread and breakfast things waiting on arrival, books, games and beach towels. (The big pile of Asterix books and the National Geographic were much enjoyed in our group.) The area is really beautiful and unspoilt, with lovely beaches about 45 minutes drive away and plenty to explore closer to home including rivers and waterfalls to swim in. It was very hot when we were there but we would love to come back when cooler to do some longer walks. The wifi was great in the living area, not so good in the bedrooms (which is also perhaps a plus!)

Idyllisch gelegenes Haus mit pool

Großes Haus. Etwas einsam gelegen, mit schönem Blick ins Tal. Auto unbedingt notwendig.
