Whether it’s a family vacation, girls’ weekend, holiday escape, wedding weekend or romantic getaway, this home comfortably sleeps 6 (5 privately) with 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, front deck, back sun deck, full kitchen, living room, dining room and screened porch that seats 6 and for convenience, there is a washer and dryer.
Spend your days outdoors enjoying your own kayak, paddleboard, surf fishing rod or the beautiful weather and scenery. The beach is a stone’s throw away. The Mermaid Cottage is just a few houses from the breathtaking sunsets on the Delaware Bay. In just a couple of minutes, you'll be strolling on the beach, playing in the sand, splashing in the water or simply sunbathing as you listen to the peaceful sounds of the crashing waves. The bayside beach is your personal getaway that is not patrolled by lifeguards, no beach tags are needed, no curfews, no parking meters, no rip tides and the gentle waves are perfect for children. (NEW Beach cart to load the beach chairs, umbrella, swim noodles and beach buckets and cooler are included during your stay). If you want to exercise while checking out the views, go for a bike ride with one of the four beach cruisers that are provided.
After a day on the beach head back to the cottage and prepare a delicious meal. Grab some freshly caught seafood from the Lobster House and Jersey Fresh produce from one of Cape May County’s many local produce stands. Jersey tomatoes and silver queen corn are a must! The large backyard is the perfect place for a cookout using the new propane gas grill. You may want to choose from one of the many restaurants in our area, so be sure to look through our "Places to Sea" book for ideas and coupons.
THE LOCATION
The Mermaid Cottage is centrally located to many attractions. We are only a few minutes from Cape May (6 miles) and a short drive to Stone Harbor, Avalon and the Wildwoods. There are many local vineyards, distilleries and breweries including Cape May Brewery, which has a free tour and is only a few minutes away. Bravado Coffee Cafe, ice cream parlors and pizza only a couple of blocks away. Jump on the Cape May-Lewes ferry by foot, bike or by car and spend the day visiting historic Lewes Delaware or nearby Rehoboth Beach. If you're in the mood for glitz and glamour, the Atlantic City casinos are 45 minutes north on the Garden State Parkway.
There is always something to do making the Delaware Bay/Cape May area a great place to visit year-round. Come enjoy all that Cape May County has to offer!
THE COTTAGE
There’s a sun deck and chaise loungers out back and plenty of space to spread out. Grab a morning cup of coffee on the front deck, read a book on the futon or listen to the seagulls fly over on the screened porch. There are also outdoor games to play at the beach or in the back yard like lawn darts, yard pong, football, horseshoes and corn hole to keep you entertained.
The kitchen is fully equipped with full-sized stainless-steel refrigerator and stove. The dining room has seating for 6 and the screened porch also has seating for 6. The living room has a comfortable couch, two recliners, 3 stools at the snack bar, ALEXA, SMART TV with cable and DVD player. Enjoy our assortment of DVD’s (including Barbie in “A Mermaid Tale 1 & 2”) a variety of books, games or just stream one of your favorites.

- Master Bedroom: Full Bed, TV, Armoire, new ceiling fan
- Bedroom 2 -Twin-size bed over full size bunk, clothing rack, ladder to top bunk is moveable
- Front porch- Full size futon

**WE HAVE SUPPLIED:
ALL BEDDING linens, comforters, bath towels, beach towels, dish towels and blankets. (Towels must be HOT washed and placed in the dryer prior to departure)
We have also supplied a limited amount of CONVENIENCE items:
Toilet paper, anti-bacterial hand soap, hydrating shampoo & conditioner, body wash, dish soap, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, paper towels, cleaning supplies, trash bags, aluminum foil, saran wrap, salt & pepper, garlic powder, cooking spray, tea bags, coffee filters, sugar, creamer and bottled water. (and sometimes Flip Flops!)
