Only positive was the view. Booked two rooms with my family Arrived and we are informed the elevator was broken and no hot water so after 3+hr drive my parents had to find new place last minute on xmas eve. I didn't wanna hassle with trying to get refund so i toughed it out for a night. Place was dirty and looked as they started painting two years ago and stopped painters tape and over spray everywhere. Definitely will not be a returning customer

My stay at Sun and Sand Resort Oceanfront Suites in Virginia Beach was unfortunately very disappointing. When we arrived, the first room we were given had a bathtub faucet that ran nonstop. The water was so loud that there was no way we could sleep in that room. Because of that, we had to be moved, and we did not end up in the room type we originally booked. The room we were moved to still had several issues. The walls were dirty and noticeably scuffed, and the overall space felt like it had not been cleaned well. During our stay, the room was never refreshed or serviced, which made it feel even less comfortable. The balcony door was also a problem. It either would not close completely or was extremely difficult to open, which made it feel unsafe and frustrating. What concerned me most was the condition of the common areas. A bag of trash sat in the hallway for our entire three day stay. It was there when we checked in and it was still sitting there when we checked out. Seeing garbage left out like that for days made the hotel feel neglected and poorly managed. I had hoped for a pleasant oceanfront stay, but the level of cleanliness and maintenance was far below what I expected. I truly hope the property improves these issues for future guests.

Dirty halls elevators. Very rough neglected condition. Pool was closed when it was advertised open. Railings were not secure. The updates that have been done were done very poorly. Room itslef was clean and cheap but the day we left i noticed from the boardwalk that a coupke of balconies had c clamps holding railings on.

The pool is closed with no signs, balcony did not laugh or latch, toilet was taped together in the back inside so it come loose and we're not flush. Overall the room was nice the hotel Southwest night just a few things that need addressed.

The sheets, towels and floor were clean. Mattress was flimsy and bounced around. I’m usually ok with older places that are clean but could use a remodel. Not this! There was no AC in the bedroom and was very hot! The window in the bedroom was to the hall with a light that stayed on all night! Even with the blinds closed it was WAY too much light for a bedroom!! When in the hall it felt sketchy, almost dangerous. I don’t think it was. The indoor pool was closed despite what it said on the website.

Ocean front with balcony. The room was decently clean however literally everything in the room was hanging crooked, the room needed dusted, the toilet paper holder fell off and the toilet wouldn't flush but my husband fixed that. The room and property new new floors and paint.

Worth it! Great price point, great location, a gem

I wasn’t quite sure how this place would be due to the mixed reviews that I had read, but my family was pleasantly surprised by how great of a stay we had. The price point for a beachfront hotel on the boardwalk can’t be beat and is its best selling point. Our room was clean and overall was a comfortable stay. The hotel is rather small and parking garage parking was a bit of a tight fit, however, there is public parking nearby and was easy enough to get to if needed. The one drawback would definitely be the hard-to-open door to the balcony. It was able to be opened but you really had to pull that sucker to get it to move anywhere. We were constantly afraid of breaking it. Also, the shower’s hot water was so hot that it was completely unbearable for more than a few seconds and there was no adjusting it. Overall, we LOVED our stay! It was the perfect location, right in the middle of the excitement, right on the beach, and a price point that couldn’t be beat. Our room was on the 6th floor which was the sweet spot I do believe. We definitely plan to return for future family vacations!

Sea and Sand Hotel – Great Location, Fair Price We recently stayed at the Sea and Sand Hotel in Virginia Beach, and overall, it was a solid experience – especially for the price. Pros: Amazing oceanfront views from every room, each with a patio or balcony. Fantastic location – right in the heart of VA Beach near shops, restaurants, and the boardwalk. Affordable compared to nearby hotels. Room had two TVs, a good work desk with lighting, strong water pressure, and powerful AC. Free WiFi, fast elevator, and stunning views from the 8th-floor pool and deck. Staff was very friendly – seems like a family-run hotel. Cons: The hotel is older and definitely shows its age. Room was mostly clean, but there were small signs of mold in the bathroom and it could use a deeper cleaning. No tub plug, and the pool was cold, low on water, with a broken ladder step. Bottom line: If you know what to expect – an older but well-located property – it’s a great value. Not as bad as some reviews say. We'd stay again for the view, price, and location.

The beach front, short walk to the beach, and the boardwalk were the best. The jets overhead were unpleasantly loud but, can't do anything about that. Staff were very helpful and prompt.
