Enjoyable week of fishing
My husband is a flying fisherman learning more about his hobby. This was our second trip to the Driftless and a second chance to stay in a property owned by Jake and Becky. The Arcadian Cabin is a wonderful location to stay for our trip out this time. It is comfortably furnished with lots of little welcoming additions to help make the stay easy. The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials. The one bedroom downstairs was perfect for our stay with just the two of us. The loft above was equally nice if we need the extra room. Cozy and comfortable are the best description I have for the cabin. The location of the site was perfect for fishing, wandering around the area, and enjoying all of the great food in Viroqua. Restaurants and stores were nice to visit and provided great service. We are already planning our next visit and hope to find the Arcadian Cabin at Bishop's Branch open and waiting for us. Thanks Jake and Becky for providing a nice atmosphere for all who come by to share the view, activities, and nature.

Wonderful adventure, sweet hosts
The hosts left a precious note and gift for my son and our family with hot cocoa and a little wooden fish. We had a wonderful time trail blazing all over the property, along the creek, and through the acreage of public land adjoining the property. Great find! Would book again!

We feel blessed to have booked this VRBO. Jake & Becky were so great to work with and we loved the stay and the house. We ran into a snowstorm and they went above and beyond to accommodate our stay and were very communicative and understanding. The house itself was clean and cozy despite sub-zero temperatures. It could have been a disaster, but thanks to the great hosts we ended up having a blast

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful cabin tucked in the woods. The hosts were so helpful and answered any questions we had promptly. The cabin is very well taken care of, clean and felt very safe. It is perfect for a cozy weekend away! I just wish we had more time to enjoy it.

Great weekend get-away!
We enjoyed our long weekend at the Arcadian Cabin! Our kids loved playing in the outdoor space, going into town for gelato and playing the cabin's board games. The loft may be challenging for younger kids, but our school age kids said it felt like a tree house. The gate at the top gave us peace of mind.

Nice View with some hiccups
Our favorite part of this property was the beautiful view. We enjoyed spending time on the front porch viewing the fall colors. Due to a number of hiccups we experienced during our stay (we communicated these directly to the hosts at the end of our stay since it was our anniversary time away), we both felt that we would not chose this property again. We don't want to really leave a negative review as we enjoyed aspects of our stay, however we didn't feel it matched our experience at other VRBOs that we have stayed with previously.

Wonderful Trout Fishing HQ
A great place for staging a fly fishing trip in the Driftless region. A great property with all the needed amenities. A quick drive from downtown Viroqua. We had one of our best days fishing on the Bishop Creek by the cabin. The owners are great and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended.

A home away from home
Everything was very well maintained and clean. The property was beautiful. It had all the amenities we needed for a short weekend stay. The only thing I would suggest is to make sure that you write down the information for getting into the house when you arrive as cell service is very minimal in that area. We were unfortunately unable to log into the app to get the information for the door code and had to drive back into town to gain access to a network. It did get a little chilly in the evening so we did have to reach out to the owners to explain to us how to get the furnace on. They were very easy to get in touch with and quickly solved our problem. Overall it was a nice day and I would recommend it for a fall getaway. The colors are beautiful and there's so many things to do outdoors. We travel into the small town for dinner and the food was exceptional. We did the farmers market on Sat morning and also another positive experience. Enjoy your stay, we sure did. Thank you.

Nice stay
My brother and I took our father to the area to do some trout fishing. The cabin was nice and clean and we enjoyed our stay. We spent a good deal of time on the front porch and down near the creek. The property is private and beautiful. Everything worked as expected and communication was helpful. I will stay here again the next time I'm in the area.

Perfect getaway.
We had a wonderful trip. This cabin was very clean, cozy and comfortable. It was very well equipped as well for campfires or a cookout. The yard allowed ample space for lawn games and at the end is a babbling brook which was such a relaxing spot. There are some nice hikes within 15 minutes to an hour as well. It is one of those places that you want to go back to again.

Our family was in town visiting an elderly Grandma in LaCrosse. The property allowed space to process through those heavy emotions. The outdoor space is so tranquil and the cabin has everything you will need to have a restful nights sleep.

Idyllic!
Anyone seeking a place of peace to re-charge would love this cabin. We had never been to this area of the country called the Driftless Region. Beautiful wildflowers adorn the countryside here, a playful deer frolics from your porch view, tiny bunnies and chipmunks venture out, birds are abundant in variety and it's interesting listening to their little orchestra from the porch. The little creek right on the property was ripe for exploration by my young grandson, armed with his net and yellow waders....allowing a boy to be a boy and be one with nature. Its a magical place, with caves nearby to explore, a network of organic farmers in the region, plus the nearby rivertown of La Crosse with it's many restaurant and brewery options. The cabin itself is well cared for and very private in a quiet, wooded setting. A walking trail surrounds a field of wildflowers. The fire pit and beautiful, starlit sky combined with cool Wisconsin mid-summer air are worth a return trip at some point we hope! Thanks to the owners for their communication and care and allowing our use of their lovely cabin!

Peaceful and relaxing getaway
Jake and Becky are great hosts! The cabin was clean and comfortable. It is so peaceful there. We sat out on the front porch and watched the wildlife every morning and evening. The deer came out every morning. They were so fun to watch. We didn't realize how much we needed time to rest and refresh until staying there. I would love to stay there again and I would highly recommend the Arcadian cabin in a heartbeat. Thank you both for a memorable trip!

Beautiful property in great location
This was our second year at Arcadian cabin for a weekend of fishing; we had another amazing experience. The property is beautiful, cabin clean and well appointed. The location is great, close to Viroqua and good fishing. The hosts are welcoming and make themselves available should any issues arise. We would love to return.

Another enjoyable time at the cabin
Our second stay and hopefully an annual tradition. We really enjoy the cabin and the area. Very relaxing and peaceful getaway. We made all of our meals at the cabin, had bonfires, fished, and read books on the deck.

We had a great time at the Arcadian. It's a beautiful place and close to Viroqua so it's very convenient. It's also located in close proximity to many public access fishing locations, which was our main goal. Definitely recommend this property.

Perfect getaway!
The location and coziness of this cabin are perfect for a getaway. The owners were so easy to work with, check-in and out was a breeze. The cabin has all of the basics you need in the kitchen to cook anything you’d want, just bring food or shop at the AMAZING co-op just a short drive into town. Love that there is firewood provided and plenty of kindling can be collected with short walks around the mowed path. I can see how this location would be wonderful any time of year, but we really enjoyed the fall weather. Lots to do in the area, it seems our trips to Viroqua are never long enough. Thank you for a great stay! 5 stars!!!

Very clean and comfortable cabin. Excellent trout fishing opportunities within walking distance. FYI - The ladder to the loft area is sturdy with non slip treads, but could pose a challenge for very young children or the elderly.

Beautiful Place in a Perfect Location to Explore the Driftless
Jake and Becky have designed and built a beautiful custom cabin located on a scenic property, next to public land and Bishop's Branch Creek (a small but nonetheless fishy trout stream. My friend and I were there for five nights to fish around the region, using an excellent guide from Driftless Angler for two days, then two on our own. The cabin is a perfect location - close to Viroqua and an easy drive to all the Driftless Region has to offer. Everything you might need for a fun vacation is in the house and shed, and the setting is very relaxing. The only minor negative observation I'd make is that the second set of beds is in an upstairs loft, accessible by a 10 foot ladder (see the listing's pictures). The ladder is VERY sturdy and safe, and there's a gate at the top. But it's a ladder nonetheless and you need to be careful going up and down, especially at night for the bathroom. Would be a consideration for older people and families with small kids (older kids will love it!).

Clean, cozy, quiet
My husband and I loved our visit to the Arcadian at Bishop Branch! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. It was a great location for my husband to try out several fishing spots in the area, and Viroqua proper is both charming and surprisingly progressive. We had two amazingly clear nights for stargazing, and the night it rained we spent enjoying a fantastic farm-to-table meal at the Driftless Cafe. My only regret is that I didn't have the guts to stick my head into that old cold cellar built into the hill next to the shed...... Jake and Becky are great hosts--lots of clear, friendly communication, a welcome packet with really informative suggestions long before we were scheduled to be there, and a delicious popcorn treat upon arrival. We really appreciated their attention to detail concerning every aspect of the VRBO experience.

Country Oasis
The Property is very nice with all amenities covered that you should need to relax and rest. The country air is sure good for sleeping. The surrounding valleys are splendid to take in. People in the area are surely "living right". Jake and Becky were fantastic host, very attentive to clients needs. Would recommend to anyone looking for a clean comfortable place to "get away" for a bit!
