This picturesque town of Visnjan is home to an astronomical observatory that offers several long-term international summer youth programmes in astronomy, archaeology and marine biology, among others. Visnjan is also known for olive and wine growing and is one of the areas that is home to the last autochthonous Istrian Boskarin cattle. There are bars, good restaurants and grocery shops in Visnjan. We would like to recommend the Borgonia restaurant. The tourist attractions of Opatija, Rovinj, Pula, Trieste, Koper, Piran, Portoroz, Umag and Novigrad can be reached in less than an hour, so you have the choice of meditating surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, tasting Istrian eco-gastronomic delicacies or enjoying the surroundings.
