Perfect Location!

Kangastay is located within short driving distances from Kangaroo Islands attractions.The house is in a lovely peaceful natural setting including visits from local wildlife.It provides all the amenities needed for a short or long stay.Highly Recommend for a family holiday.

Clean, Tidy, Good amenities. Great location. Kanga Stay was a great spot to start the day off from and was perfect to wind down. Kids loved learning to fish in the river too!

Home away from home

Kangastay is a perfect location for a relaxed and comfortable stay on Kangaroo Island. It's set in a bush setting with native animals close by. It is well equipped with everything you need and has a good selection of books etc with information on plants, animals and birds of the area. It is a handy location for the West end of the Island and is just over an hour from the Ferry port.

Beautiful, private space with easy access to Vivonne Bay. Clean and well-appointed kitchen. Plenty of games and puzzles if indoor activities are in the cards! Good communication by the owner, who graciously helped me with a timing issue.

Cosy Vivonne Bay house

Very neat and tidy home with plenty of room to spread out. We loved hanging out on both the front and back deck. Plenty of reading material, DVD player and CD player for entertainment. The beds were comfy, and the bathroom nice and clean. The second toilet in the laundry room was great for when the main bathroom was being used. The instructions for the property and the checkin/checkout procedures was clear and easy to follow. Overall a great experience on Kangaroo Island.

Lovely 3 days

My husband and I wanted to spend some time in Vivonne Bay as we had not stayed since the fires. Kangastay was perfect for us - very comfortable and we loved the evening visits from the wallabies and the resident possums. Our son in law and grandson decided to join us and Ros was very helpful with this change. Hope it rains for you all soon!

Family get together

Our son came over from England- surfer - so there was plenty to find. Hubby loves to fish so the jetty was close by. I love birds so there was plenty to see and the Raptor Domain was close to visit. So we were all satisfied and great BBQs at night together with a family movie before crashing. Overall a good family reconnection in a comfortable home. PS I put the 80 in the fruit bowl on the table.

Kangastay is great

Perfectly located for all ends of the island. We had koalas in the trees, geckos and wallabies on the ground, the beach a stone’s throw away. Everything you need for a family getaway.

With a family of 4, including 2 teenagers, its not always wast for everyone to love wverything about a place. But at kangastay, EVERYONE LOVED IT!! The vibe from the moment you park is one of relaxation and senerity, and the kids loved the committment to sustainability through composting. Many visitors before us left a pantry stocked with so many spices, etc. You can read all about how others liked it in the guest book left by the host for us to conteibute to. We all slept brilliantly and our nighly visits from 2 local wallabies was an absolute treat! Theres also a koala across the road that comes out at night too and we all enjoyed seeing him. The proximity to the grneral store in Vivonne Bay was a 1 minute drive and the Vivinne Bay veach is extraordinay, with sand as fine and soft as sugar. This will be a go to for us for our trips to KI. Highly recommend!!

Nature's wonderland

Wonderful place to stay within walking distance to Australia's best beach and Harriet river just across the road. Great base to visit other attractions such as Seal Bay, Little Sahara, Finder's Chase and Stokes Bay. However, spent alot of our time at Vivonne Beach which is just magic. The whiting burger at the general store is definitely worth a try. Loved the homely accommodation, ideal for families with children. Thanks for sharing your lovely home and making Kangaroo Island accessible for visitors. Definitely would recommend and hopefully visit again.

Kangastay in Vivonne Bay

What a special place Kangaroo Island is, and we were so lucky to stay at Ros’s place. It was quiet and perfect for our needs. We could walk to the beach, we visited the Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, Admirals Arch, and Remarkable Rocks. We had the fantastic whiting burger at the general store. We saw seals, sea lions, koalas, kangaroos, cockatoos, horses, and our own wallaby at the house. The ferry trip was so easy. This trip is a must, and Kangastay is the perfect accommodation!
