  • The Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, Texas is a terrific zoo! The zoo has a great range of animals and exhibits and the grounds are well kept and spacious. There's lots of shade to keep you somewhat cool during those hot Texan summer months if you visit during that time frame. The animal enclosures are nice, and can really give you great views of the animals themselves if you are a bit patient. This also makes for great photo views, as shown here with this photo of an approaching jaguar. Food and snack prices are also very reasonable, as are prices for souvenirs. This zoo makes for a great day out for the family.

The shades wouldnt open and shut, the traffic from I35 was very loud and distracting while trying to sleep. There was an extremely strong odor that burned / pierced my sinuses that made it very difficult for me to sleep / breathe at night. It was either mens cologne or body spray that might have spilled or it was some type of air freshener they used, but whatever the case, I struggled to breathe and sleep at night because of how it affected my sinuses. All of my luggage and belongings have the strong odor all over it. Other than that, everything else was decent.

Older wooden toilet seat had lots of chips in the paint. Faucet at the bathroom sink was crooked so the water came out sideways. The breakfast was good, the staff was cheerful. I had to ask each day at the front desk for a pool towel since there were none at the rack next to the pool door.
