Wondereful get-away
This is one of the best places we have stayed since we started bringing our three grandkids on adventures over Labor Day weekend--more than ten years now! The house is large with five bedrooms and two bathrooms and the kitchen was very big and well stocked. The beds were very comfortable also. There is a big yard, place for a fire and a creek and the host's farm across the road with animals, which the kids enjoyed. We also were able to pick fresh veggies from the garden. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Amazing farmstay
Greg and Mary's home was wonderful! Sparkly clean and equipped with all you need plus more! We were able to enjoy their farm animals with a couple visits and see/feed the baby lambs and baby cows. My kids made wonderful memories because of these wonderful people.

A little piece of Heaven
Our stay was in april with a group of 5. Everyone had there own space . We had the view of both the Sunrise and Sunsets as the crops are not yet in. The farmhouse had more than enough room for our group of 5. I loved the space in the kitchen which allowed all of us to be in one space without bumping into each other. Plenty of other seating throughout the house also. We enjoyed a campfire and nature along with some thriftshopping in the neighboring towns. The farm fresh eggs were a nice added touch to. Our hosts were awesome and we were able to enjoy our visit with them as well.

Beautiful old farmhouse, friendly owners, beautiful sunrises over the cornfield, no sound but cows and roosters, fresh eggs in the morning! Lots of amenities like games, toys, extra staples in the cupboards to use for cooking. A peaceful getaway.

Awesome vacation spot!
The house was clean and ready for my stay. It was decorated with many eclectic items that built your curiosity. The minute my nephew's entered the house they were drawn to many different items throughout the house. The house contained many extras for the children (board games, movies, toys and bikes) on top of the necessities, to make your stay more comfortable. The outside contained a nice sized yard for children to run around. The fire ring gave you the ability to have a nice campfire with the wood the host graciously provided. The free roaming chickens and the ability to collect fresh eggs from the coop provided a small glimpse into farm life. The host went above and beyond; suggesting activities in the area and on the property, such as allowing us to see and pet their sheep, and allowing us access to their creek. Overall I would definitely recommend taking a small step into the country life and staying at the Malone Guest House.

Perfect home away from home
The Guest House was the perfect home away from home for our family of 6. Each of our kids were able to find a bedroom to suit their personalities, the kitchen had all the equipment we needed, the internet was fast enough to support working remotely, and the Malone's were super hosts.

Wonderful farm house
I can't say enough kind things about the Malone's. We were here for 6 weeks over the winter while my wife did clinicals for her schooling. They were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Greg invited our family to meet the newborn baby lambs at their farm. We had farm fresh eggs the entire trip. The house is beautiful with large windows and plenty of space. It is well decorated. The internet is better than ours at our home in Saint Cloud. We were able to stream movies and do zoom meetings for our child's school with zero problems. It's a great place with plenty of peace and quiet.

Wonderful stay
We brought our 5 kids to the farm for some time away. It was a wonderful experience. Greg and Mary were amazing hosts. The kids loved seeing the sheep being fed and getting to pet baby kittens. I would highly recommend this for families.

a wonderful farmhouse stay
we stayed here with our kids (ages 3 and 5) and several family members for a weeklong family gathering. we had a wonderful stay. greg was a warm and welcoming host. he made sure we had whatever we needed, took the kids on a 4-wheeler tour of the farm, brought us kayaks to play on the creek, and was very helpful and kind. the house was big and comfortable and perfect for a big group. we grilled a couple evenings and had long sits around the campfire. the beds were very comfortable and cozy. we would highly recommend staying with greg and mary!

Wedding Week~
This farmhouse is by far one of the best VRBO's we've ever stayed at! We are from AZ and our son was getting married in MN about 30 minutes from this property. I was able to make the wedding cake in the kitchen, and we even were able to host the rehearsal dinner before the wedding! The kitchen is fully equipped and very spacious... It is a lovely, quaint farmhouse with everything you need to make a home away from home. The yard is huge and we had access to the fire pit and firewood, plus eggs from the chickens. Greg and Mary were the most welcoming hosts and went above and beyond to make our time there a wonderful experience. This farmhouse has become a lovely part of our memories from our son's wedding. Thank you for your hospitality!

Christmas at the Farmhouse
This is our 5th year staying at the farmhouse for our family Christmas celebration. The farmhouse is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Mary and Greg are very accommodating. This year Greg invited us to their farm to see the young lambs, a calf and cats. Our grandkids enjoy petting the lambs, calf and playing with the kittens. Greg also gave our grandkids toboggan rides pulled behind his four wheeler.

It was a nice stay. We had a family get together in Wadena so we did not get to relax much due to all the goings on. We did not get to experience all the things it did have to offer but, when we did, it was nice.

This property was this country girls dream come true!! The home is beautifully vintage and decorated restfully!! The bedrooms were cool an very comfortable!! The chickens and roosters were so fun for me and the grandkids!! I will return!

Greg and Mary gave us the most friendly introduction to the farm! The house is quaint, comforting, and neat as a pin. The beds are amazing and the free entertainment of the chickens will be a highlight! Out of selfish ambition, I hesitate to give the rave review this location and its owners deserve...because I I would love to keep the place available only to me! I was in love with this farm! Wadena is a great community! And you will not be sorry you snuck off to thw country for a while to stay here. :) April D.

This year was the fourth family Christmas get together we had at the Malone’s guesthouse. As usual we had a great time at a great location. We feel very much at home here. We had a lot of fun and made even more memories. This year we also had the job of moving our Mom from Sebeka to Wadena, in the middle of a good old Minnesota snowstorm. The Malone’s accommodated us in every way, from changing our reservations to a day earlier, plowing the driveway and sidewalks early in the morning, so we could start the move and even pulling the moving trailer to town when our minivan couldn’t get enough traction. It was wonderful to have a home base to come back to for meals and rest. We will definitely be coming here again. Randy and Connie Roiko

We attended our son's wedding in Hewitt and stayed at this lovely country home in Wadena. It was a great stay! Thank you to the Malone's for a clean, peaceful setting. Could not have asked for more!
We just got home from one of the best vacations ever! We came here with my 6 year old and 8 year old. They got a true farm experience. They collected eggs every morning from the chickens, got tractor rides, fed the sheep, played with baby kittens, kayaked down the beautiful creek, caught minnows, got lost in corn fields, played in the hayloft, had bonfires and more. We could not be more grateful to have found this gem. I can say with certainty that we will be back. Thanks for everything, Greg and Mary!

Perfect!!
Our family of 6 loved staying at this home! We loved the rooms, the kitchen, the yard--really, all of the indoor and outdoor spaces. The girls loved the chickens and couldn't wait to check for eggs each day. We spent a day at Itasca SP, and another at Bemidji, but it was so nice to come back here each evening. Our last full day, we didn't drive anywhere--did some kayaking, 4-wheeling, bean bag tossing, holding lambs, and just enjoyed staying there the whole day. Hope we can make it back again sometime! Thank you, Greg & Mary, for such an enjoyable stay!

Wonderful place to relax. Fantastic owners!
A real gem just outside Wadena. The house is spacious and very well maintained and the property is huge! Lots to do here like minnow fishing, kayaking, star gazing, or just wading in the creek. We all loved feeding the chickens (no roosters to wake you up) and collecting eggs each day. The owners are super nice. Greg and Mary were so kind and generous with their time. They showed us around the property and made us feel right at home. Greg even took time out to show the boys some of the big farm equipment which they all loved (Dad liked it too). We have stayed at many rental properties over the years and the bar has certainly been raised now. I think the kids summed it up best when they all agreed "Best VRBO property ever!"

Can we give six stars!?! Amazing place to experience farm life in rural Minnesota
We chose this home to get away to a place of peace and quiet while some of our kids were at a camp in Western Minnesota. While in a rural setting (& very quiet) the home is not too far from the small town of Wadena. We were pleasantly surprised with just how quiet and peaceful it was, yet with opportunities to be busy and explore the farm, which made for some great memories for us, and our four youngest children who were with us. Adventures found us feeding lambs, touring the farm, walking and kayaking down the creek, finding tree houses, exploring corn fields, and biking at a nearby mountain bike park (10 min away). We spent much more time at the house than we thought we would, not needing to go far to find things to do. The yard is nice and large, plenty enough for lots of running, throwing ball, playing games, campfires, s'mores, even chasing fireflies - which for us folk from Colorado was a very rare treat! The home was well kept, stays nice and cool on hot days, offered a place of rest and relaxation from our adventures. We played board games, built a puzzle on the sitting room table and watched an occasional movie on the tv via Netflix. (FYI, we have verizon and had great LTE coverage at the home. Their DVD player has Netflix and we connected to that by way of my iphones hot spot. Worked just fine!). The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals in house - and even bake brownies, of course! Water was a bit strange for us, but we might be sensitive based on what we are used to. It is connected to a filter but we still chose to bring in bottled water. Greg and Mary and their daughter Nichole were awesome hosts and went out of their way to make our stay great at every turn. They quickly became friends, rather than mere hosts. All-in-all, a most awesome experience, much more than we had expected. We will most definitely be going back with the entire family!!!
