"I liked having the resturant attached. The food was very good. The bed and bedding was comfortable. However there was a lot of noise above our room the sounded like construction. It did seem to cease around 10:00pm"

"It was a perfect getaway for our 10th anniversary! Beautiful views and cozy, tidy accommodations! They had everything you need and sweet little touches, like robes and slippers. And some snacks. Very impressed with our stay and we would love to return someday. Thank you!!"

"I love how this motel is located at the mouth of Cape Breton and right by the ocean. Unfortunately it's also beside a railway track. If like me, you can sleep through the train noise throughout the night, it's actually a nice comfortable place to stay. I also appreciate that we were provided plenty of toiletries."

"This Cape Breton "cottage" has everything you could hope for. Quiet, daily sightings of deer and red fox and eagles and other birds. The "magical" nature walk to Lake Bras d'Or added joy and whimsy and time for reflection. The water is crystal clear, and the air is so clean and fresh. The "little house" is homey, very clean, and has everything you need to cooks some meals, and enjoy a mug of coffee or tea. I brought oatcakes, but Cape Breton has no shortage of excellent bakeries (Aucoins and Cedar House are top of the list!). We did not even reach the Causeway til my husband and I wanted to U-turn and stay longer. We will recommend to friends we know who will visit Cape Breton, and we hope to be back someday too. Thank you Sandy and John for everything!"

"Spectacular mansion but dated. Plenty of space. Heating didn't seem to work very well. Rather isolated location - good for a group retreat."

"Quaint, historic property with charm galore. Waterfront property with dock was spectacular, but shares lawn with another camper close by. Strong doggie odor throughout property, great for dog lovers, not so great for allergies: recommend new furnace filter and odor sanitizing. Lost power during our stay but super responsive host and a generator onsite within minutes. Lobster delivery (for a fee) was a plus!"

"Despite a gale force storm, and code orange emergency our stay here was lovely. Our host even stopped by to check in on us during the major power outage that effected much of the area. Our only regret is the wind and rain put a damper on our ability to explore the local area and culture. We can only image how great this area is when the skies are blue and the winds are calm. We will definitely be back to find out!"
