“Just came back after a 2-night stay. The place was easy enough to find and we didn’t struggle for parking either, location is great. However, as it is self check-in there isn’t anyone around. Everything is done via text messages and code locks. The first room we were given hadn’t been cleaned at all after the previous guests had left. I let the person at the other end of the text messages know, and we were “upgraded” to another room (slightly larger and had a bathtub instead of a shower). This ……

“Lovely setting with some great architecture. Friendly family run hotel but somewhat tired in places. Disappointed by the most bizarre room which had a full size stainless steel kitchen segregating a reasonably nice bedroom from the large but rather odd bathroom (which also housed the wardrobe). Had its own ‘orangery’ and small garden. Loads of blinds to close, some of which were broken and the orangery outer doors had no blinds. Open plan so couldn’t make it completely dark… luckily had my eye……

“Hotel was a beautiful building. Room was spacious and bed comfy although the bedding and sheets did not fit the bed properly. Only ate in the Bistro. Meal was nice and good value with their two meals and bottle of wine offer. Could do with a few more staff to help especially clearing the outside tables on the patio . Left plates and glasses from lunchtime and no sign of anyone around.”

“All the staff super friendly and the room was very big and clean. The mattress wasn’t great though and the noise travelled through the rooms- people above were quite noisy. Breakfast had good options but the scrambled egg on toast wasn’t great- should’ve done the full English! Would stay again but the bed could be comfier and hopefully not as noisy people above next time.”
