The Elmwood hotel rooms have been refurbished and are beautiful. The hotel was in the path of travelers going north to see the eclipse so the staff was possibly overwhelmed. The person at checkin had a difficult time finding our reservation booked through Expedia and I was glad I printed out the reservation info. They did their best though. The main reason for writing this is that we arrived late afternoon and the temperature in the room was set to about 64 which was cold to me. The heating unit was a minisplit on the wall. But the controls for the minisplit are on the top of the unit where my 5’7” husband had to stand on the swivel desk chair to reach to turn the heat up. Poor design! Be aware that their current hours according to a sign on the office are 7 am - 7 pm.
