Escape to Your Private Lakeside Wilderness Retreat

Imagine unwinding on your own 120 acres of secluded woodland, with an incredible 1500 feet of pristine, native lake shoreline entirely at your disposal. At our unique hideaway, one of the lake's original cabins, you can truly get away from it all and immerse yourself in nature. Situated just 30 feet from the water's edge, you'll feel like you're practically sleeping on the lake!

While offering a tranquil and private escape, please note that our cabin provides primitive amenities for a true off-grid experience. If your ideal vacation includes words like "glamping," "secluded," "get-away-from-it-all," "quiet," and "private," then this could be the perfect retreat for you.

Cozy Cabin Features:

Sleeping Loft: Two twin XL beds (can be combined into a king).
Downstairs: Comfortable sectional couch with an ottoman that converts to a cot.
Basic Kitchenette: Microwave and refrigerator (please note: no running water in the kitchenette).
Primitive Bathroom: An outhouse is provided for bathroom facilities.
Relaxation: Enjoy a traditional wood-fired sauna after your adventures.
Outdoor Oasis (Summer Months): A unique deck with a hot tub and solar shower awaits you.
Entertainment: Big-screen TV, cable, and high-speed internet are available for your convenience.

Water Adventures: Take advantage of our two kayaks and a paddleboard to explore the tranquil lake. Enjoy easy access to the water from our floating dock.
On-Land Exploration: Discover the trails throughout the 120-acre property at your leisure.
Nearby Thrills: For UTV and snowmobile enthusiasts, find endless routes on over 500 miles of local trails.
Nature Lovers' Paradise: We are conveniently located less than 10 miles from the North Country National Scenic Trailhead on Hwy 113 and approximately a 30-minute drive from both Itasca State Park and Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge.

Important Notes for Your Stay:

Remote Location: The cabin is about a 1/4 mile drive from the main road, with the final 500 feet involving a steep incline. Guests with rear-wheel drive should strongly consider parking at the top of the hill and walking down to the shoreline.
Primitive Living: Please be aware that this is a primitive cabin. You will need to bring your own drinking water.
Cooking: An electric pellet grill is provided for your outdoor cooking needs.
What to Bring: Unless otherwise arranged, you will need to bring your own bedding and linens.
Guest Responsibility: To waive all cleaning fees, we kindly ask that you leave the cabin clean and ready for the next guest. This includes removing all garbage (please pack out your garbage).

The customer service refused to refund my my booking amount dispite purchasing travel guard insurance through expedia. I thought I booked 2 nights, but it was just thr one. I tried to extend the stay, but they didnt have the additional night I needed. I tried cancelling within 5 hours of booking and the company refused to refund me.

This was our 3rd stay at the Hilton Tilton. First stay though in several years. Several upgrades had been made and the place keeps getting better. Caught several walleyes and Northerns off the dock. Really enjoyed the kayak and used the paddle boat. Fired up the wood fired sauna several times for a good sweat and at night we relaxed in the hot tub. Outhouse was very clean and did not detect any bad odors. Weather was perfect for our stay. Check in and out was very smooth. We will be back for a 4th time in the future. Great location and great lake for activities.

The place is amazing we had a blast !!! A couple grill tools , a paper towel rack in kitchen would be great! The lift upstairs is a bit tight but we made it work . Overall everything it said it was !

Summer Vacation

This place was perfect! My partner and I enjoyed taking the paddle boards, kayak, and peddleboat. It was clean when we got there and while we say some comments complaining about the outhouse it wasn't bad at all. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay!

We had a great time. Everything you would expect from a Minnesota Cabin. The lake was nice and caught several nice fish...we put them back so they're still in there. Dog loved it. Too hot for the hot tub but looked well kept and perfect for cooler weather. We'd go back again. Friendly neighbors/people passing by on the lake. There was one restaurant about 15 minutes away. Brought a George Foreman and that worked out nice for cooking. There was a grill but never used it/looked at it. Cabin/Outhouse was clean. The hill down to the cabin is sandy/washed out a bit but i have a jeep so this wasn't an issue...you'd need 4wheel drive to get all the way down to the cabin..but plenty of room to park/trailer at the top of the hill. Super fun!

I didn't see the email until it was too late to cancel. Drove out to the place, Hunter/fisherman paradise. Family expecting running water in the house or dressing area. Not so much. The only family members that had fun was the toddler, and the dog. I think because they didn't have any idea what was going on.

Beautiful Getaway

Loved it!!

our cabin stay was wonderful!! We sold our cabin last fall -so this was a great stay to be back in the woods. We saw lots of wildlife and the relaxation was great. We brought our blowup camping mattress ( as we didn't want to navigate the steps upstairs) I didnt mind the out house- but I did bring a camping potty for latet nights. The dogs loved to be able to swim up and down the shoreline. The hot tube was a relaxing addition to our stay. We will definitely come again-or if we bring more family - we might rent the other cabin you have. Thank you !!!

Phenomenal

This was our second stay at this amazing cabin and spectacular property! If you truly are an outdoor enthusiast whatever the weather and love exploring the woods and the amazing trails whether it’s walking or sledding THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!! The cabin was perfect to warm up and relax in and the bonuses of a sauna and hot tub were superb.. The best was laying on the frozen lake and looking up at stars . Such a surreal feeling! The owner Sara is amazing and so friendly so happy we got to meet her and thank her for sharing her cabin with us!! We are definitely looking forward to visiting many many more times!! Thank you again Sara for another amazing memory filled trip !!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

This is a great place to unplug and unwind for the weekend. My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The hot tub and sauna were wonderful perks to the "glamping" getaway we were seeking.

A peaceful, quiet & secluded retreat. The land is beautiful, lots of birds and wildlife to see and hear. Hot tub and sauna were awesome. We would have loved a pull-out couch on the main floor.

This place is not for everyone.

I loved it personally. And I will most likely be back! I reached out to Sara, and got zero response back. Wow! Really?? and it was just a question. There are some super simple and cheap stuff that could make this rental so much more user friendly. A coat rack to hang coats. ($10 bucks at the Fleet) Perhaps a drop down counter space on the east side of the cabin to the right of the kitchen nook for extra surface area. $100.?? Why not put a few screws to the current sink and countertop so it doesn't slide around. This rental is not for anybody that has mobility issues. AWD/4x4 will be a positive. My Boy Scout mentality is to leave any place that I reside better then I first came across it apples to this location. Michael

Tiny cabin getaway in the woods

It's was a great little property, the weather wasn't great but I'm looking forward coming again in the summer! The loft has a pull down ladder and we decided we didn't want to climb up and down the ladder at night so we pulled the mattresses down which was fine since it was just the 2 of us! The hotub was AMAZING! You truly felt like your in the middle of the woods! I would recommend if you have anything other than a 4 wheel vehicle to park up on the last hill before the cabin, we drove our van down and almost didn't make it back up the hill! Overall it was a great... Remote.... Experience!!

Nice getaway for a long weekend

The cabin is located a few yards away from the lake; it is small but cozy. The weather was wonderful and we enjoyed being outdoors all day walking with our dogs and relaxing in the sauna and hot tub. There is a place close by where you can buy firewood. Our Subaru didn’t have any problems getting close to the cabin.

Very nice, and peaceful

It is a very nice, and peaceful location. Had to clean the cabin before we unpacked. Called the owner to let her know the last group had left their trash, didn't clean up, and left the front door open. She told me she didn't have time to clean it up after they left, and said very rudely she was so sorry it wasn't pristine. I guess we weren't looking for pristine, but cleaned up would have been good. Everything else about the place and the property was awesome! I would highly recommend staying, and do make sure you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get out. The driveway is really steep, and soft sand.

The perfect secluded getaway

The property was very peaceful for a quiet getaway from everything. Overall it was exactly as advertised and as long as you know what you’re getting into and pay attention to what the description says there shouldn’t be any issues. I brought a 16’ fishing boat with me and parked it in one of the grassy areas at the top of the hill each night….it is a bit of a challenge but again I knew it could be based on the description. For reference as well I needed four wheel drive to get my full size pickup up the hill from the cabin with how soft the sand is. The cabin itself was very cozy, and the hot tub was nice for relaxing in the evenings.

Awesome Getaway!!

We absolutely loved this cabin!! And the view was Amazing!! So relaxing. We want to go again. We didn't want to leave. The hot tub was amazing. My Husband loved fishing off the dock.
