While we loved the cabin itself, location and all the amenities - especially the hot tub, gas fireplace in the living room, tv and DVD selection - unfortunately, the electrical circuit controlling lights, heaters, the wireless modem, etc in all but the living room repeatedly flipped off. This only happened once the first night and, thinking it might be a normal occasional occurrence for an old cabin and reading the note in the kitchen with the location of the electrical panel, I went outside and flipped the breaker back on. Unfortunately, it switched off with increasing frequency throughout the day on Thursday, meaning that there was no heat/lights in the kitchen, bathroom or bedrooms, making it very difficult/impossible to prepare dinner, shower, etc. The wireless router did not work because of its location in the bedroom. Luckily, I had brought my own wireless hotspot since I was working remotely.
I called to report this problem on Thursday morning and was told that maintenance would come by, I provided my call back number, and confirmed it was fine for them to enter even if we weren't there. They did not respond. I followed up with an email in the afternoon and received no response. We had to constantly trudge out in the cold and ice every time we wanted light in the kitchen/bath and then it only lasted a few minutes before going dark again. We found ways to work around the lack of consistent electricity/heat but it really put a damper on what otherwise would have been a wonderful get away. It has been three weeks since my stay and I have called twice, emailed, completed a satisfaction and still have not received an apology or any type of compensation. Very disappointing.
