Lovely spot
Cute cottage. We loved having the herons and egrets feeding right in front of us at low tide.
Its a nice little place. Very clean with an amazing view of the sunset from the couch or back yard. Kinda small though so id recommend just a couple people. Id stay again. The Beach is maybe a 5 minute walk away.

Happy stay!
It is a dated home but clean and comfortable. It was very well equipped in regard to towels/linens as well as the kitchen dinnerware, cookware, utensils etc. Everything you could possibly need at a vacation home.
Loved the location! Very peaceful on the marsh side and a quick walk to a beautiful beach .

Great Location.
Just a few minutes to beach where there is plenty of room, even at high tide. Gorgeous sunsets, especially if the tide happens to in. This is our second year here. We'll be back.
Spent morning sitting in front room watching the tide come in before going out exploring. Is a very cute place in a very quiet neighborhood. Only drawback could be how small the bathroom is but it’s doable. We had a great time and would stay again.
The cottage is small, but it was the perfect amount of space for my mom, dog, and myself. It was clean, the neighbors were friendly, and the sunset views were absolutely amazing. Thankfully, we could walk to the beach and to the shops because construction traffic on the little road had us blocked in during the day, but we enjoyed exploring on foot! I would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful views and proximity to the beach. Very small cottage but it's fine for 2 people.

Our mini vacation
I searched Vacasa for a rental for our mini vacation. I wasn’t looking for a long stay, just a quick get away with the kids at our favorite place in the world Wells Beach Maine. I came across this cottage. The cottage was beautiful! It was clean and had plenty of supplies, dishes, plates, silverware etc! But the best part about this cottage was the living room that had the most spectacular view of the marsh. It was perfect!
the cottage sits on a dead eat road so very quiet
4 minute stroll to beach
every thing you need is provided unless you need a dishwasher and w/d

Cozy Cottage
This was a very charming, cozy cottage with everything we needed for a lovely weekend. It's small but was great for myself, my wife, our two kids and our dog. The only real downside was the shower stall, I'm pretty tall and thin and found it difficult to manuever in there. But what really makes this place special is the amazing view of the marsh. My family and I loved to watch the sunsets here. The neighborhood was relatively quiet which was nice and the beach was less than a 5 minute walk away. We loved our stay so much we wish we could've enjoyed it longer.
Only a few minutes walk to the beach and perfect sunsets from the porch overlooking the tidal river. Super clean. Only knock is the tiny shower stall, but the upsides of the cottage far out way that minor inconvenience. We'll be returning without worry.
This is a cozy cottage with beautiful sunset views right out the back door over an expansive estuary. And it's a short 3-4 minute walk to the Wells town beach. Plus, it's only about 10-minute drive to Ogunquit and Kennebunkport. The cottage is well-equipped and was impeccably clean and fresh smelling. The one downside is that this is a very small cottage with comfortable, but cramped sleeping quarters. The one bathroom has a very small shower stall, and an incredibly tiny, very low sink that's about the size of a shoe box. The living room, however, is a nice size and lined with windows that flood the space with light. This cottage is suitable for a couple, and perhaps a small child or two. But it might be too cramped and crowded to house four adults or couple with teenagers.
This place is a hidden gem – a fantastic location for bird watching, kayaking and sunset viewing. Only a short walk to the beach, to Wells Harbor or to Forbes. A very bright and clean cottage that is well-stocked with dishes, cookware and utensils. All of the appliances are new (or nearly new) and all of them work! This was our second visit and we were impressed by the improvements that have been made (new furniture, new outside stairs and closed-off shower). We did find several nails in the driveway from the construction going on next door, so be careful when parking. There’s a big picnic table for outdoor dining and four Adirondack chairs for relaxation. We found the outdoor clothesline quite handy for hanging wet suits and towels. Can’t wait to return next summer!

Insanely Overpriced
Nice view and clean, but that’s about it. Biggest regret of our trip. We spent so much per night and then double with the fees for 2 nights off season - feel like we got ripped off! We’re OK with rustic, but the tiny shower stall had a corner view into the kitchen, the bathroom sink was the size for a small RV, and the kitchen has nothing redeemable except a nice coffee maker. Plus there’s a 4 story monstrosity being built next door - just 30 feet away. Luckily, there was a break in construction while we were there. This place is NOT worth the price they charge!! Beware of fees besides the nightly price.

Don't rent on the full moon
We loved this little cottage and it was in a very beautiful location until the tide came in and totally surrounded the cottage in the middle of the night. We evacuated the cottage and called the vacasa representative in Oregon and we're told someone would call us as soon as possible we didn't hear from anybody for an hour we didn't know what to do we sat in our car away from the cottage with pillows and blankets and waited till the tide went out we did get a call and we're informed that this is something we should expect from a coastal rental I ended up going back in after the tide receipted it happened again the next night I think we should have been warned about this I think there should be a note at the cottage letting people know that this happens we found out later at many of the full moons

Paying for location.
1. I couldn't get in at 4 as security code box didn't work. I had more comments regarding a couple of problems I had with security code box not working and at one point locked out for two hours. I am only allowed 1500 characters so I can't go into detail.
2. The picture of the room overlooking the swamp is beautiful, however, what you don't see is the two middle windows do not have screens so you can't open the windows. Someone commented on no screens in prior reviews, but still no screens.
3. There was beach sand on the bed.
4. Bathroom could have been cleaner. I cleaned it.
5. I vacuumed the floor when we arrived as it had beach sand on it.
If not for the location, I would not stay here as I think it is too expensive for what is offered, which I think has more to do with cleaning and neglect. I did reserve it for next year as I have a dog and it is a great location. If I can find something else, I will cancel.
This tiny cottage reminded us both of what a summer home used to be. Before McMansions! Before everything became so overdone in our lives. It is super small but it all just works! The view out back over the marsh is, on the other hand, super big. We got out of our cars and both stood there in silence, overwhelmed by the beauty and closeness. It was soothing and gentle. The wildlife is right there and the marsh is such a living thing, the tide and the light and the patterns on the water. This is what you rent this space for! Coffee in the morning gazing out at all of this and then taking a four minute walk to the beach! It makes you look at the world's smallest bathroom sink, and lack of a dishwasher with total acceptance! You rent this home to be .... at the beach! Our short stay felt like a long stay! I have been going to Wells Beach for 57 years and I have always stayed on the ocean side. Wonderful to experience the marsh side! We hope to go back next year!

This rustic cottage on the marsh side of Wells beach was a delightful place to stay for 2 adults and their dog. The cottage was exactly as described in the listing and in VRBO reviews and was spotlessly clean upon arrival.
