「Lovely heritage cottage and equally lovely host. Quiet and relaxing place to stay for our long weekend away. The town is long past its boom days but retains a lot of its charm regardless as well as its recognition of its gold mining history and its focus on being a "Book Town", including a Booktown festival in March. The pub does a very enjoyable meal and a good coffee at one of the cafes and quality pie at the bakery is readily available. Easy drive to bigger centres and other small towns. 」

「Deceptive from the front, and much larger than expected. Property backs onto the railway line with fairly regular VLine trains, but they didn't really bother us. 10 minute walk into the centre of town, so not too bad. Single car off street parking under shade cloth, otherwise parking outside of property is okay. Quiet street. Upstairs is spacious. Beds comfortable. Water pressure not fantastic, but okay. Outside seating on the deck is very nice. Enjoyed seeing the steam train to Maldon going...
