Adorable relaxing & private getaway!

We had a great time. It was quiet and private. The cabin was equipped with almost everything you need and we had great cell service. We hope to stay again sometime!

Beautiful cabin at elevation in cabin community. Details say 4-wheel drive car requires and it is needed…. Front wheel drive may could handle the access road, but it may be a little scary

Not ideal for cold weather or a family

The mini unit heater couldn’t heat the home, so my family and I slept fully clothed in our winter wear. Bedding was musty, linens were dirty, the “king size bed” was not an actual mattress, but instead just a platform of some sort with a mattress topper. The stay was so unpleasant we cut our trip short and didn’t stay the second night.

Nice place

The cabin is adorable. Very nicely decorated. Nice master bed, kitchen, and den areas. The second bedroom is not one in which I would think would be comfortable and it requires going into the master bedroom to access the only bathroom. I would not consider this house suitable for more than one couple. But it was great for me and my husband. The property is very nice and has a great outdoor area. There’s no ice maker but it was no problem using the old fashioned ice trays. The chairs and couch in the den don’t match the pictures and the chairs were not comfortable for sitting for a Tv night. We used our fold up canvas chair. This is not meant to be a bad review because the house is adorable and we would consider staying here again. The porch and deck has stairs that offer pets to run free and stay safe. Very nice feature!

Sweetwater

Sweetwater is a cute cottage but was not clean. The outside porch appears to have not been cleaned in years and the furniture on it was dirty, and some broken. While we understand that outside areas will not be spotless, it was apparent that under the bench, table, etc. had not been hosed off in some time, and certainly not prior to our check in. The screen door was broken and unusable. We notified property management upon checkin of the broken screen door and nothing was done to fix this. The basket that was a light shade over the sink was adorable, but was filled with cobwebs. The towels were like sandpaper and smelled as well as the old sponges under the sink. We went into the "game" room and it was filled with cobwebs and smelled musty and moldy. The listing says sleeps 6, and while there were only two of us, there was not a place for 6 people to sleep. The living room furniture was extremely uncomfortable. We appreciated a quick response to lack of toilet paper and that we were given access to some. I did not read the check in instructions thoroughly and it would have never occurred to me to bring toilet paper to an accommodation that was that expensive; I have never had to do so in any other rental. We enjoyed the cool weather and love the area but would not stay at Sweetwater again or recommend it.

Nice Mountain Cabin and Wildlife

We enjoyed our stay, especially seeing the deer passing by. Cabin was smaller than the pictures appear. Would be great for a couple or parents with young children. Access to bathroom is only through the master bedroom which is awkward during the night. Downstairs is only accessible by going outside and had a musty smell so wouldn't want to sleep down there. Overall, it is a lovely cabin and seeing the wildlife was very special.

Sweetwater October

Quaint little cottage in a beautiful location. Very quiet, peaceful and private, somewhat afforded to the time of the year. Neighborhood appeared to be a mix of full-time residents and vacation/second home places. Looked like a summer spot. The cottage was nicely kept, and fine for one, two, or a small family. Enjoyed the wildlife (lots of deer) and birds and what neighbors we did see were friendly.

Fabulous cabin

We just returned from four nights in this lovely cabin. The location was very peaceful. It’s at the end of the road so no through traffic. We have stayed in other cabins where the gravel roads can be very treacherous, but this road was very easy to navigate. We saw deer every day and hiked down to the river. We will definitely be back.

Lovely cottage

Loved our stay! The cottage was spotless, comfortable, secluded and peaceful...exactly what we needed for our short getaway! Only complaint is most of the cushions for the porch furniture were missing.

Sweet stay at Sweetwater

This property lived up to our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We spent most of our leisure time hanging out on the deck and enjoying the ambience of the woods. It is in close proximity to downtown West Jefferson and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

Took a quick 10min drive downtown to re-supply the wine. Fenced area for the dog was a nice. Home is very nicely decorated and very clean. We didn’t use the “game room” downstairs, but I would think it would be perfect for your teenagers to use. Jack and Michele have thought of everything. My only critique is the lack of privacy if we were traveling with another couple. We will definitely be back in the spring! Easy ride from the Raleigh/Durham area!

We did have to cut our stay short due to weather, but if we could have had a few more days without prior school and work plans to enjoy the weather, we certainly would have! Stay Blue Ridge was easy to work with and stayed in touch with us as much as possible, even called to be sure we made it home in the snowy weather. The house is not only beautiful, but very comfortable and relaxing. Our pups also enjoyed the fenced in area outside and rolling around in the snow. A trip we will always remember. Thank you again for another wonderful weekend get away in a beautiful location and home. We will return.

Spacious, conveniently located to Jefferson/West Jefferson, and all the activities we targeted; hiking Mt. Jefferson and walking along as well as kayaking, the New River, retail & artisan shopping and restaurants. Met the owners and they were very helpful, conversational, and supportive. Loved the gas grill and the gas fire pit on the well-apportioned, mostly covered deck. A birder's paradise also. Had just enough of all the kitchen accessories for cooking and enjoyment. Containment areas for the pets an added bonus. We would stay again, and recommend to others...
