This beautifully restored move-in ready home built in 1939 is centrally located within the 5 Star award winning West Lafayette Community School Corporation school district. West Lafayette Jr/Sr high school is two blocks away and West Lafayette intermediate school is within walking / biking distance. All of the following are within a short walk: Purdue Ross-Ade Stadium, Mackey Arena, Happy Hollow Park, the West Lafayette Municipal Pool, the West Lafayette public library including Grand View Cottage, restaurants, and coffee shops! A recently finished bike and walking path is just steps away, providing easy and safe connectivity to many, many miles of paths throughout West Lafayette and Lafayette. You'll enjoy entrusting your stay to this private home. Hopefully the home will help you enjoy your stay with all its amenities. Starting from the front door entering the foyer, to your right is the library. The library features comfortable chairs, plenty of board games on the shelves, a 40" flat screen TV with Roku, and a fireplace. The fireplace is currently not available until it has been inspected. Walk straight from the foyer into the kitchen and pass the staircases on the left and a first floor half bathroom. The fully equipped kitchen features everything you need to cook meals at home. The kitchen was expanded with custom built cabinetry, hardwood flooring and lighting. From your vantage point in the kitchen you have plenty to see. To your 3 o'clock is the dining room where you can enjoy a dinner cooked at home. The dining room features a dining table with seating for 8 people. Past the dining room is a bonus room for games and a sleeper sofa. To your 2 o'clock is the sunken family room. The family room features comfortable sofa and chairs, a large built in flat screen TV, and gorgeous, exposed brick from the original 1939 exterior of the home. Access the 425 sq ft screened in patio through French doors. Enjoy being outside without dealing with mosquitoes while enjoying beautiful new brick flooring. The backyard has a wooden privacy fence and is surrounded by mature trees, creating a very private retreat. The front yard has been transformed into a beautiful low-maintenance walk-in garden full of life and color, with perennials that attract birds, bees and butterflies! To your 1 o'clock is the dinette area. The dinette area features a table with seating for 6 people. Straight ahead is the mudroom/laundry room conveniently located right off the garage, with custom-built lockers and a brand-new dryer. Turn around to go up the staircase to all of the bedrooms. There are two ensuite bedrooms: one on the north side of the house is the original ensuite master bedroom and the one on the other end of the house is the addition ensuite master bedroom. Each of the ensuite master bedrooms features a king size bed, a 40" flat screen TV with Roku, a dresser, and black out curtains. The original master bedroom ensuite has its own full bathroom, hardwood flooring, a light-filled office with a vaulted ceiling, skylight and its own balcony from which one can see the high school, and the Purdue bell tower. The addition master bedroom ensuite features its own full bathroom, new hardwood flooring and lighting, vaulted ceiling, its own private balcony with similar views, and a walk-in closet. The addition master bathroom has tons of storage, new heated tile flooring and a recently installed marble tiled shower. Each of the three additional bedrooms between the ensuites feature a queen bed, a 40" flat screen TV with Roku, a dresser, and black out curtains. Soundly sleep in any one of the five quiet and restful bedrooms. Each bed offers queen size memory foam mattresses, and eco friendly sheets. There is also an additional full bathroom between the ensuites. The home has been lovingly restored with an attention to detail and quality. The house includes numerous updates, including the addition of hardwood flooring, new French doors and windows, and new lighting. Full of character and charm, the house has its original faceted crystal, brass doorknobs and hardware, 6 panel doors, a newly refinished wood spiral staircase, exposed brick, built in bookcases and a gorgeous gas fireplace. New hardwood flooring was also added in the upstairs hallway and the original hardwood flooring was refinished to match. New carpet was installed throughout (two bedrooms upstairs and 1 room downstairs). The entire home is freshly painted. A major portion of the plumbing and electrical system has been recently updated, as well as new toilets in all 3.5 bathrooms. Two new premium HVAC systems were installed in 2022 along with a new hot water heater, and a new water softener. There is plenty of storage space with a two-car attached garage and a large unfinished basement with a pool table. Please note this property is a mid-term rental (30+ night bookings only)! This property has not been approved by the City of West Lafayette as a transient guest house. Any inquiries for less than 30 nights will have to be declined. Please consider booking one of our approved short term rental properties (Historic Blue House - West Lafayette or Destination Station) for bookings less than 30 nights. Also the City of West Lafayette has rental housing occupancy limits of either (1) one family and no more than two unrelated guests or (2) no more than three unrelated guests. The City requires submission of an Occupancy Affidavit stating the names and relationships of each guest. Please complete both the rental agreement and the West Lafayette Occupancy Affidavit when booking your stay.
