“The hotel was in need of some tender loving care. It had clearly been a formidable building in its day and stood in extensive grounds but 3 centuries of wear have not been kind.
There was no problem with cleanliness and the staff were excellent. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived.
We chose this hotel because of the leisure facilities and we were not disappointed. The swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi were invigorating. The steam room was out of order during our stay but that did not……

“Had a 2 night stay at this property, very happy with our visit, couldn't really fault it to be fair, as we didn't really spend a lot of time there apart from our first night. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy, the staff were very helpful and cheerful, had breakfast on both mornings, opted for the classic breakfast, which was ample, the bar was well stocked and plenty staff serving.
If I was to be picky, it is very minor points, I requested a twin room, but had a room for disabled……

“Dog friendly, helpful staff great for an overnight break on a long journey ( both ways!) Easy access from the M6 making a break from motorway driving.
Penkridge is a really interesting place to stay and take a break on a long journey. Very welcoming villager and quiet away from the main road.
However the pub is a little noisy at night ( we stayed on a hot summers night!)”

“Nobody told me there's activity beside Hotel. All road block and we can't access to hotel after dinner. The road resume almost at 10pm and we spend 2 hours wait outside. Its troublesome to my family. I must complaint to IHS office for the negligence of Hotel staff.”

“Joules and her Son were absolutely wonderful hosts. We couldn’t have been made to feel any more welcome and we had absolutely everything we needed for our stay.
The breakfast was outstanding - lots of choice and super fresh and tasty.
Joules’ baking was a great surprise treat, a lovely touch in our room on arrival and the Brownies later in our stay were out of this world!
Our room was spotless, very comfy bed, lovely armchairs with the spectacular view over Ironbridge and the valley.……
