We drove down from Belfast to Giant's Causeway and took the coastal route. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Giant's Causeway is a magnificent, mysterious geological formation on the North East coast of County Antrim. We took the coastal route beside the Atlantic Ocean and the landscape was fascinating with the waves, rugged cliffs, secluded bays and magnificent views. It was an amazing drive and the whole area is categorised as Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is an area of countryside in England, Wales or Northern Ireland which has been designated for conservation due to its significant landscape value.
