"We stayed in the Sowing Room which was lovely and quirky, but it was up 3 flights of stairs and because of the quirkiness of the room both myself and partner bumped our heads when getting in and out of the bed and putting the lamp on.
The breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice no complaints there.
We had very little interaction with staff but the staff we did interact with were lovely."
"Nice very central position. Car park a little hard to find but plenty of room really once you find it. Very nice hotel but a little dated and needs a little refurb. breakfast was excellent."
"We stayed only 1 overnight on the way down from scotland. We could see lot of people staying for visiting the lakes. The hotel is in a very nice location. They are also pet friendly and they provided us a towel and a bowl for the dog. We highly recommend both breakfast and set menù dinner which was very nice. Room was clean and bathroom looked recently renewed."
"I had the superior family room, which is fantastic. It is spacious, clean and includes a ‘living space’ with dresser, shelving, fridge, coffee facilities, table and sofa. I always feel so comfortable and at home here. Management team are friendly and always have time to say hello and make me feel welcome. Staff go out their way to make sure my stay meets my expectations, plus more. I sometimes need to stay longer than expected, and they are very accommodating to do their best to keep me in the same room, minimising any troubles to myself, even if at last minute. If it is possible, they always try their best. Even when busy. I appreciate this effort so much as it ensures my holiday is as relaxing as possible. Housekeeping are more than happy to provide whatever you may need, and offer to service the room, however, there is very little needed as the room is always equipped with plenty towels, coffee facilities etc. I am happy to maintain room myself, asking for any extras if ever required. They couldn’t be more helpful. Spa and gym are exactly whats required. Spacious, clean, towels and robes are provided. Treatments are available on request at extra cost. Definitely worth a try. Although these can be booked up pretty quickly. I’d advise booking a day in advance for treatments. I tend not to take breakfast, I don’t personally like the set up nor find it good value for money. This will depend on individual preference, ofcourse."
"Very good value for money, cheap and cheerful really, but staff are great and very helpful.
Breakfast is a fairly standard budget hotel offering but plenty of food, so no complaints"
"Lovely hotel in beautiful peaceful surroundings, bus stop and jetty within 5 minute walk. Clean bedrooms and staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend and return."
"It was disappointing that the hydrotherapy pool was closed for maintenance/repairs for part of our stay. The staff were friendly but our safe was locked for our entire stay and they were unable to unlock it for us. There were a number of niggles which we wouldn’t have expected from a hotel at this star rating, such as the leaking sink, basic toiletries and lumpy pillows. The cooked breakfast was not available at the beginning of breakfast service despite booking the 7.30 time slot. However, great location, comfortable bed and excellent food."
"We stayed in the Lodge 1, it was aesthetically really beautiful! The only downside is you can hear EVERYTHING from next door, which wasn’t too bad for us because it was just TV but I can imagine if you had a rowdy next door neighbour in the lodge you’d be extremely disappointed.
The Spa was beautiful and intimate it is a great escape for a couple… However, two elements of the shower didn’t work, the hydropool could use a bit of maintenance and a little bit of atmospheric music would be great (there is speakers). Besides this, it’s picturesque and relaxing facility.
Breakfast here is AMAZING like 10/10 the best hotel breakfast I’ve had. You have both a continental breakfast, and you have a made to order menu. I ordered the eggs florentine and my partner ordered the porridge, both were great.
This a hotel I’d definitely come back to and recommend for couples or friends looking for a relaxing getaway in the lakes :)."
