The city is uniquely divided into two districts, Punda and Otrabanda ("Other Side"), connected by the iconic Queen Emma Bridge. Willemstad is a hub for trade, tourism, and culture, famous for its colourful Dutch-style gabled houses and historical landmarks. Don’t miss a visit to Fort Amsterdam, built in 1635, now the seat of government and a striking piece of history guarding the entrance to Schottegat Harbour. Other notable sites include the Mikvé Israel-Emanuel Synagogue, the oldest continuously operating synagogue in the Western Hemisphere, and the Dutch Reformed Church, dating back to 1769.

Getting Around:
Within walking distance, you find several shops, a small market, a barbershop, diving school, bars, a small beach, restaurants and other districts such as Scharloo, Pietermaai and Otrobanda. If you want to explore more of the island, we can help you with renting a car.
If you decide to rent a car, there is a free parking spot on a 5-minute walking distance. Parking at the street is also possible upon availability, and for a fee during business hours.
