This was first vacation in years and overall, I would say Vacation Village met my expectations. It is conveniently located, and the area has no end of things to do. The pool area got a little loud at times from music I did not care for, but the unit area was very quiet. So so on the maintenance of the grounds but have to mark the unit down some for cleanliness. When we arrived, there was a dead bug on one pillow, a hair on the toilet, kitchen floor was sticky, couple light bulbs out and a sauna in one of our units was broken and would never get repaired because of age according to maintenance. Oh. and the toilet in one bathroom started running every 20 minutes or so and maintenance never fixed it.
Now, the most harrowing dissatisfaction of all, and yes, admittedly nobody's fault but mine as I have a disease for free stuff. Upon arrival we were offered a chance to "view" a unit at a sister resort and provide feedback. We were told explicitly, "no presentation involved, we just want your feedback on the unit." I knew better, but the free stuff was calling. Next morning and two and a half hours later I couldn't take it anymore and I told them I was done with the presentation that had devolved into high pressure sales tactics, hostility and aggression. When I said we were leaving I was told I could not and that's when things got ugly. Suffice it to say don't get sucked in as the free stuff just ain't worth it. Nuff said.
