This church stands in the tiny village of Twyford on the banks of the River Trent near Willington. Until the 1960s there was a ferry across the river here. The approach road is often flooded in winter. Always OPEN. This is a Grade One listed building. I am going to photograph everyone of the Grade One listed buildings in South Derbyshire over the next few months. See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twyford,_Derbyshire

Entrance to new marina near Willington, Derbyshire Trent and Mersey Canal. This is so new that the Google maps satellite images still only shows it as a flooded former pit detached from the canal. It is Mercia Marina, opened in 2008.

Staff was so welcomeing on arrival. Smooth check in,loved the little brownie gift on arrival. They also managed to decorate the room for my partner‘s birthday with some towel art shaped into a cake which I thought was lovely and along with a nice message.
