Highly recommended

Very comfortable & well equipped, would’ve stayed longer if we’d known. But it was difficult to find! Google maps just took us to Glentunnel, where we got uncertain directions from the shop.

Quiet, relaxing stay on the farm.

We stayed 5 nights here because of the central location to surrounding summer hikes, Rakaia Gorge, Arthur's Pass, Mt Hutt. Travelled no more than 1 1/2 hrs in any direction to get to hikes. The two bedrooms were ideal, comfortable bathroom with underfloor heating, excellent kitchen with everything you need to cook. Large fridge, oven and gas cooktop. Be prepared though with groceries before arriving as not in an 'urban'area. Go to Rolleston Countdown for cheapest shopping and stock up. Methven and smaller towns have less range and more expensive prices/shorter opening times. If you want peace and quiet and a visit from two friendly farm dogs, this is the place.

Stablehand’s Quarters.

Good accommodation. Friendly dogs. Lovely grounds. Unfortunately had noisy neighbours first night. Second night lovely and quiet. Great log burner. Comfy bed.

Peaceful and relaxing

This is a picturesque rural location. The Quarters are comfortable with everything we needed. The local farm eggs were delicious. Friendly hosts. The nearby Washpen Falls walk is well worth it. Thanks.
