Quiet Refuge

We found the house warm with the fireplace. All the mirrors made the spaces seem even bigger, and the style of the marbled and mirrored bathroom was so nice! I loved the cabin-like room upstairs with the windows all around and the wooden ceiling and walls.

We loved our stay at this property. The home was clean and well maintained as well as beautiful. The location made it easy to travel around the city. Both our host and resident cat were very welcoming. It would be at the top of our list if/when we book another trip to the city.

Great place & location!

Loved the home & Gopher the cat. The location of this home was perfect for enjoying the city, many places close by but also easy to navigate to those further away. So glad the owner kept much of the original aspects of this older home. Was a joyous stay! Would stay again.

Got a Cozy Room

We just stayed at this place to sleep for 2 nights, and I can say that the room where we spent our nights was very cozy! Thumbs up for that! The only downside, I guess, was the bathroom shower, it was difficult to balance the hot and cold water or I should say you cannot balance it at all. So, I'm rating this 4 out of 5 stars!

Gorgeous Heritage Home

I stayed for a couple of weeks and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The bed was comfortable and the the house was warm for the season. I will return if I'm able. My little dog needed to be carried up and down the stairs but that was a minor concern since he only weighs 11 pounds.

Character home

Our stay was very pleasant. The house is older, but roomy and comfortable. There is a friendly cat on the property and he has a cat door so you may catch a glimpse. The kitchen was stocked adequately with utensils, plates, etc. There is a very nice outdoor deck to relax on.

Home away from home

This is, by far, the most charming and comfortable home we have ever stayed in. The host, Tony, is exceptionally accommodating and friendly. And we LOVE the resident cat, Gopher! We have stayed here before and truly hope to stay here again. It is our home away from home. Thank you, Tony, for a wonderful stay in your beautiful, charming home. We’ll be back soon, I hope!

Beautiful Historic Home

It was gorgeous from the moment you stepped up to the gate. Communication with the Owner was very easy. Tony attended to a problem with the TV the very day it occurred. The bed was comfortable (I only slept in the Master room). Having the cupboards stocked with so many dry goods and spices was very helpful.

Cool house!

Great house with lots of charm in a good section of town. Stayed this past weekend and there was extreme cold warnings, but the house was warm and cozy with the fireplace. One side note: if you are allergic to cats, this is not a place for you. Gopher the cat, is cute and likes people and has free roam of the house. When I read reviews I thought it was just an outside cat.

Feels like home!

Tony is an outstanding host. House has a ton of space and is absolutely a gorgeous character home. Having access to a BBQ, dishwasher, and laundry was huge for us. We were traveling with an infant and it was a big bonus to have access to a playpen too. Gopher is the absolute best, he’s so friendly and chatty but also will stay out of your way - it felt so good to have a friendly cat around as we were missing our own. Some considerations if you’re thinking about visiting this property… If you’ve never been to this part of Winnipeg before - the neighbourhood is gorgeous, safe and friendly but to get to the property you may have to go down a rougher part of Main. We didn’t bring outlet covers with us - those traveling with young children may wish to do so. There were some toys around and colouring pages too! You’re staying in a home - we didn’t expect to have so many amazing things waiting for us and we were so grateful. Some spices, pots pans and plates, BBQ utensils, etc. Lots of towels and linens for our crew of 5 (4 adults, 1 infant). Don’t expect hotel quality as you’re staying in a home :) we appreciated it all. Had a great lived in, welcoming feel - like visiting at a relatives home. The AC was awesome and kept us cool in 40c weather - it’s not central AC but sure felt like it once all were on! Backyard is cute and cozy - lots of patio furniture to lounge! We will be suggesting Tony’s place to all of our friends and family. We’d absolutely stay here again.

Tony’s place is more than a home-away-from-home; it’s a little haven. It feels like staying with family rather than in a rental unit. The layout is exceptional, there is absolutely everything that you need to be comfortable.

This is a fantastic older house with lots of character. When you are driving north on Main Street you might get nervous at the individuals outside on the street but don't worry where the house is a quiet street. Very clean house with an adorable cat Gopher who loves people and treats. Highly recommended

Weekend getaway

Property was as described and it felt like home away from home. Great character, very spacious. Comfortable beds. It was crazy hot the weekend we stayed and the AC worked like a charm. Highly recommend and we’ll be back again.

My 3 granddaughters,ages 17-26, and I totally enjoyed the fact we each had our own rooms and great gathering/play space. We were so happy a deck of cards were there and we had such fun! The parking was a bit of a challenge but luckily my granddaughters are adept at figuring out workable solutions. Since I'm on a fixed budget and they are college students, the price was right for our budget. The host has a great sense of humor judging by his clever labeling, even trees got special attention. Thanks Tony, a delightful 3 days!
