Fantastic staff
All the staff were very helpful and friendly to me, from the receptionists to the restaurant staff. I am very grateful to them. The room was exactly what I wanted and comfortable. The location was near to several famous places in the city: the Bell and Drum Towers, the city walls and southern gatehouse, Huimin Jie. And the price was great!

It used to e a very good hotel but now is a rather dated one. It could use a little renovation. The majority of the rooms, have s bad odor of smoke, even though it’s considered a non smoking hotel . (The receptionist had to change me 4 rooms before finally finding a non smelling one. The reception guys are doing their best to help the clients but the owner must do the same as well.

good : good location not good : Air conditioning turn off from central from 8 am, they charged me using bath robe CNY 160, I am argue with them , then charged me CNY 80 its no price list in the room. i never been charged in china using bath robe when i travel multiple city in China, rip me off.

Only negative and it wasnt the hotels fault
The map on Expedia is wrong for the hotels location. If you bring up the map and move to the right of where the hotel is marked, you will see a half circle road. The road coming off of the middle of the half circle is Nanxin Street, that is the street the hotel is located on. Its a couple of buildings in from the corner.

No Air Conditioning!!!
The Aurum hotel was nice and easily accessible and walkable to different areas, and when areas were not within our groups preferred walking distance, there were plenty of taxis were available. My biggest complaint is the air conditioning. Our group had three rooms, each on different floors, and none of them had air conditioning working or turned on. This is unacceptable for us since we are all from Texas, Georgia, and Florida. The daytime highs were in the upper 70’s. Opening windows did help in the evening, but I felt the hotel intentionally disabled the AC on the guest floors. Main lobby and restaurant area had air conditioning.

Nice Hotel
A good hotel to stay and is quite convenient where surrounding having nice food. Is quite as the hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the town center. The front counter staffs are all very friendly and helpful and even the cleaners are polite as well. Although the room that we booked is small in size but actually is good enough to stay as we only occupied the room at night after the day trip to the place of interest.

You should avoid misleaded by its building picture
the linen of bedding 5 more years old, you can not sleep well on such pillows. front desk management cannot get out Red tape , check on check out too too slow, billing problems as well

Don't stay here if you don't SMOKE!
This was the first time that a hotel was so bad that we left after our first night and went to another hotel (Sofitel). Even though we asked for a non-smoking room, the room that we got smelled so bad, especially all the blankets and pillows. We went down and changed the room, and again horrible smell of smoke. I guess if you're a smoker you wouldn't mind that, but for us it was horrible. The English of staff was so bad that they hardly understood us, and when the next morning we told them that we are leaving, they didn't even give us a simple apology. The wifi was also super slow and spotty.

Great stay in Xian
We stayed in this hotel for 1 night - the check-in was very quick, staff was friendly and helpful and could speak English. We received a room on the highest (23th) floor with very nice view. The room was spacious, clean, very comfortable. Wifi was working without any problem. Everything in the room was working, we did not have any issue. On the next day we headed to Terracota Wariors, so we checked out early in the morning - no problem, all went quickly. The hotel has a cool central position, but is not on one of the main street with high traffic. You can easily access the city wall and other sightseeing points. Should we ever stay again in Xian, we would choose this hotel again.

Good choice for Xi'an.
Very pleasant stay at Aurum International. Well located just off a major road, so lots of bus routes nearby. Easy walking distance to many of the major attractions in the city. Maggie at the Front Desk spoke good English and was very helpful with where to go and how to get there. The room itself was very comfortable and everything was clean. I slept great which is quite unusual when I travel. Didn't much use the rest of the facilities but they seem pretty good. It doesn't appear the hotel gets a lot of one night tour groups, which is a good thing. The WiFi was a bit slow, but I blame this more on the Great Firewall, because speeds picked up considerably when using my VPN (when it wasn't blocked). I'd stay again when in Xi'an. Also lots of good small eateries on the streets nearby.

Short visit to Xian - to see Terracotta Warriors
We really enjoyed our stay in Xian, there is quite a lot to do and see, its easy to get around and is cheaper than Beijing. Clean, comfortable and well located hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Easy checkin procedure, nice room, great restaurant, well priced with a very good value for money set menu of western food. Would recommend and would revisit.

Nice room with a pretty comfy bed. We were there in may and two nights we had to run the air and one night the heat. Both worked great. It's called an "international" hotel so it would have been nice to have some international TV channels. The staff was very helpful. Were very helpful in booking tours for us and getting cabs when needed. We ate in the hotel restaurant one night when they were having "western night" food. It was mediocre. It was cold and we didn't want to go out but the food we ate out our other nights there was definitely better--and cheaper. Great location. Walking distance to most of the historical sites (other than terra cotta warriors obviously).

Stayed 4 days for a family holiday. Location is good as it is within walking distance from the drum tower and s metro station. There also plenty of eateries around the corner. Room condition is decent. Toilet bowl was choked on second day but was repaired immediately by the housekeeping upon report. Hotel staff were very polite. I communicated with them in mandarin hence no language problem. The only thing that needs improvement is the hotel wifi. Throughout our stay, we relied on our own data plan as the hotel wifi is extremely slow or not working.

Great location and a really large room. It sort of a lounge area so really spacious. Air conditiong was a problem and we couldn't get then room cooled down. The hotel staff were quick to sort it and gave us a portable air conditioner. Really appreciated. They even helped my when I needed medication and recommended a pharmacy and wrote what I wanted in Chinese for me.

A nice, affordable option
As a single female traveler, I felt safe at this hotel. The breakfast buffet every morning was good and different every morning. I was disappointed that the business center was no longer open since the "free Internet" was spotty (not unexpected in China), and I had concerns about checking in for my flight. The bedding was comfortable, but the bed was a typical hard sleeping surface, but I slept well. Water is not potable and is only stated in the room reading material, however bottle water supplied for free. It was walkable to many locations. Unfortunately the room smelled a bit smoky, although it was a non-smoking room. This may be unavoidable in China.

The hotel stay was very good. Very cheap price and good location to approach main venues within the walls. You can get anywhere inside the walls for about 10 RMB by taxi. Things that were a bit annoying was that the internet (ethernet and wifi both) connection was very slow and smoking smells are often sensed in the corridor. Other than that, it was a great stay.

Central Xi'an in the downtown core
I arrived via high speed train from Beijing at the North train Station and took a taxi from there 50 RMB. MAKE SURE YOUR TAXI HAS A FUNCTIONING METER! Do not use the drivers that meet the train, they asked for 300 RMB . I was greeted at the hotel and assisted to my room. Unfortunately, I do not speak Chinese but the Manager can and smoothed my way. She checked with me to make sure my stay was perfect. The second night I returned after missing my train, Jennifer got me a great room, and price and opened the restaurant for me to have supper. Room was great, shower with lots of hot water and the next morning the concierge gotmea taxis to the train stain for 50 RMB's
