A quiet little hotel on the ocean
I have always wanted to stay at York Beach but it gets quite pricy. The off season made it so I could afford it. That also brings fewer staff. I did not mind that I did not see any staff. Check in and check was simply done via a note on the office door. They did have an emergency number as well as a number for services. It made it feel like I owned the place. I did not see many other guests either. I sat on the balcony watching the waves drinking coffee and it was serene. If I come back in off season, I know I will be staying here again.

It smelled like marijuana a fair amount of time. The rooms were clean enough. The rugs definitely could use a deep clean and the beds weren’t very comfortable. You can’t beat the location though

My room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Everything was up to date. The coffee and toiletries were well supplied. The staff was very accommodating to my needs, letting me check in early and letting me stay in the same room for 2 nights, even though I had booked two separate rooms. Beth was always upbeat, friendly and helpful.The view of the ocean was spectacular. I really enjoyed my stay at Sea Latch.

They did a really nice job upgrading the room and redoing the bathrooms, they are very cozy. Every room has a partial sea view from the side balcony, and it is right on Long Sands beach. The only issues are being a bit noisy, beds a bit hard, and having to be careful of traffic rushing through the parking area (not the fault of the establishment). Overall a very pleasant and economical, stay.

I’m sure since it was off season things aren’t kept up with the same but we had a much better experience over the summer. There was hair in the shower and drain that hadn’t been cleaned and the towels didn’t all look clean.

The checkin was super easy, the room was very nice, clean and comfortable.. very nice.. the only problem I had was late at night there was a big bang from the floor above me and then lots of noise of someone banging around and some kind of motor like a hot tub or jacuzzi jets running off and on most of the night.. with the noises from above I didn’t get much sleep.. but otherwise was very nice..

Horrible experience
Horrible experience. No heat, the lights outside the door were like the sun shining in all night long. (Photo included) The curtains on the storm door did little to keep that light out. I woke at 2:30am and thought it was morning. Stayed a week and not ince did they service the room. The showers have no shelves so all your soap and shampoo has to go on the shower floor. No dressers. Small smart tv with no service, just a roku. We had to sign into our netflix account. There’s a swastika out front on the fake fire pit. Never again. To bad that great location is ruined by a completely garbage experience.

I liked the room... very clean. Hotel was quiet. To me, the beds were a bit hard but overall ok. I didn't like that even though we had the "do not disturb" sign on the door, they still came into our room while we were out & cleaned.

Loved our ocean front view. We had an issue with loud guests and the on call manager told us there was no one to help with the problem.

We checked in on Friday and stayed till monday. Not once did we get house keeping?????? Had to request clean towels. No house keeping at all. Why??????

We arrived and our room had no heat. After complaining we were told that none of the summer rooms have heat. We were never told this and it is not in there advertising. It was 50 degrees in the room. We asked for blankets and they denied us and said they would refund us in the morning. We couldnt use any of the room because we were freezing. We had to sleep in all our clothes with our coats on and were still freezing. The next day they refused the refund they said they would give. I highly recommend you don't stay here. Upon examination of state tenant laws, it does not seem like they meet the legal requirements by the state of Massuchusets for the minimum rental property heating requirements.

The stairs to the 2nd floor were steep and not very wide or deep. We weren't able to change to ground level. The room was newly renovated and comfortable. The only thing missing was a rack for hanging clothes which could be very annoying if you brought clothes that needed to be hung up or even jackets.

The location is amazing, the beach is easy to access. Sadly, no one was here when we arrived for check-in. The hotel left a few keys in a locked box for the people who didn’t check-in yet, but the code to open the box was right beside it. It could’ve really easy for someone to just steal the cards and then we’d have to call the number for emergencies trying to reach someone. The rooms are clean and the price is worth it, we were just a little disappointed for check-in.

Unacceptable accommodations
We booked a standard king bed and ended up in one of their “cottages” called the barn. Was 2 story with. Bunk bead with trundle bed twins a twin bed and then a double bed. Unacceptable. We had just travelled from my daughter wedding Thursday in NC and were exhausted where we just dealt with it. I have no idea if it cost more or less than what I paid for it! Very disappointed. I’m top of that there were no batteries in the smoke detector and no heat and no TV.… or it did t work! So NOT HAPPY! And we were told people were changing rooms before we got there so we obviously lost our room!

The TV does in fact work, maintenance checked the TV after your departure and it working fine. The only reason your room type was changed, was that we needed to deal with a couple of maintenance issue in one of the buildings, that was not going to be completed on time. I'm so glad we chose to upgrade several guests, such as yourself, rather that cancel the reservations and allow expedia to relocate those guests affected. Thank you again safe travels.
