6/10 Okay

Location: amazing—a 15 minute walk from everything Things I liked: really nice towels, fans in every room, comfortable sitting and dining areas, bizarre but functional kitchen, incredibly spacious throughout Things I didn’t like: the toilet in the primary bathroom only flushed twice a day; the slider in the primary bedroom was nearly impossible to open; all balconies and the roof deck were neglected, growing plants, in need of a serious power wash, totally uninviting, clad with chain link fence, and ratty, threadbare awnings; most egregious was the actually broken—not cracked—window directly above a twin bed in the children’s bedroom where my son was supposed to sleep. Overall: this place is fine. Just fine. It is completely barebones with nothing on the walls. It is in dire need of a renovation, but even if the toilet just *worked*, and if the balconies were cleaned and had flowers and comfortable outdoor furniture, this would get four stars. But, with those issues unaddressed, it was just a 3-star place to sleep for 6 people.
