A flat for guests, pilgrims and seekers...
If these words appeal to you, then it could be that you will feel at home in our holiday flat. It is situated above the village of Wald in the Zurich Oberland in a quiet and beautiful panoramic location: a 2-room garden flat renovated in 2011 in our somewhat older house, which we have breathed fresh colours and vitality into. The "pilgrim's flat" with its own entrance is located in the lower part of the house and - like the whole house - faces south.
It comprises the living room with kitchenette, the bathroom and a bedroom with a double bed. The sofa in the living room can be converted into another bed. The flat is suitable for 2 adults. The flat is too small for children and teenagers. It is not wheelchair accessible.
Kitchen-cum-living room with ceramic hob. No TV, but WLAN connection (wireless). Car park 15m away. From the windows you have a clear view of the mountains, and the flat door leads directly into the garden, which is open for free use. A natural stone staircase leads to a fireplace in the upper part of the garden with a magnificent panoramic view as far as the Alps.
* Wald is a beautiful and large village on the edge of the foothills of the Alps. It is not always, but very often above the fog, embedded in hills and forest, and even has its own alp - the Alp Scheidegg. Our house is located on the hiking trail route to the Bachtel. In summer, the area is ideal for hiking, while in winter the Oberholz and Atzmännig ski areas are less than a quarter of an hour away.
Wald has a rich industrial past. It was a centre of the textile industry and was known as the "Manchester of Switzerland". Heritage-protected factory buildings and manufacturers' villas bear witness to this period, allowing nature and culture to blend harmoniously in our village.
* Lake Zurich can be reached by car in 20 minutes. There is Rapperswil with its lakeside promenade, castle, old town and numerous shopping facilities. Zurich is also within easy reach. The journey to Switzerland's largest city takes 35 minutes, or 40 minutes by public transport. That's what makes this village so attractive: Both the mountains and the city centre are within easy reach.
