By far the best stay at this hidden gem. The staff were beyond accommodating and made me feel safe and welcome while I was there. I will be staying here ever time I come back to NYC.

Hotel was clean and staff was amazing. Had an issue with our shower door not opening and they had it fixed as quickly as possible. Every member of the staff was amazing and helpful. Rooms were nice and cleaned well every day, Breakfast was a good plus and the coffee was spot on!

Had the most beautiful stay at hotel Riu in New York City. Can’t beat the location. Super convenient to walk to your tourist spots and coming back to a clean well maintained hotel.

My stay at Sofitel New York was excellent overall. The hotel was very clean, well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Guest services, in particular, were efficient, responsive, and made everything feel seamless from check-in through most of the trip. Unfortunately, my experience took a disappointing turn on the day of checkout. The hotel attempted to authorize and charge my credit card $500, claiming that my bachelorette party was playing loud music until 4 AM, disturbing other guests, and that security had come to our room after a warning call from the front desk. This was completely inaccurate. My group and I were not even in the room from approximately 12:30 AM to 4:00 AM. When we returned, we were winding down for bed—there was no music playing, and we were simply talking at a normal level. We never received any call to the room, nor did security come to our door at any point. It was extremely disheartening to have such a reputable hotel attempt to charge a significant fee based on claims that did not occur—especially without contacting us first to discuss any alleged issue. Experiences like this raise serious concerns, particularly as I’ve since seen similar reports online involving hotels in New York City. While the property and most of the staff were wonderful, this situation left a lasting negative impression and should be addressed with greater transparency and fairness.

Location for price would have me return again. Steps away from everything we wanted to do in the Times Square area. Negatives : Was it a bit run down - yes (a new paint job would really help); Did one of the metal bed frames squeak - yes (but not the other one); Were the rooms small - yes (and I think that is shown in the photos); Did housekeeping forget to leave a toilet paper roll - yes (called down and they brought us a roll); were the towels small and thin - yes; was AC Unit loud - yes (but worked well); was our view bad in the 2nd floor room - yes (but not inportant to us) Positives : Late Check In (we flew in from CA and arrived at 1:30am); added safety with limited access elevators; mattresses were comfortable; able to leave our luggage after checking out to still explore before we headed to the airport; classic revolving doors
