The hotel is dated, Japan 1970/Deco, and the rooms/bathrooms are small. Reception staff's ability in English is limited. The location may be central but not appealing. We overnighted for the Naoshima ferry. A better choice for this purpose is JR Clement which is across the street from the ferry and the station.

Elevators were slow and hotel has a confusing floor plan

This should not be rated as a four-star hotel, a three-star is more appropriate. I paid more per night at this hotel than what i paid at the Grand Hyatt five-star hotel and the difference between the two are huge. This hotel is in need of updates and it shows in so many ways. I've never been in a hotel here in Japan where the air conditioning unit goes one way (in winter, where the heater is turned on, you cannot set the a/c to cooling if your room gets too hot. All you can do is turn off the a/c unit and wait for the room to cool off). No gym. You'd have to go somewhere else to work out. The lobby just looks sad. I really don't know how they can charge this much for this quality. You're better off going to the Granvia next door.

Triple beds was nice and the view from the room was beautiful. It was very easy access from the station. We wish we could use the swimming facility within the price.

The property is clean and the space is large. The only bad thing about this place is the check-in procedures. Since there is no staff in the building, your only way to access is by the email sent by the property owner. The email arrive at 6pm on the day I check-in, after I reach out many time and through email, their offical website and Expedia. Take your risk when consider this place.
