Kyushu and Okinawa Beach Holidays

Resort itself it a bit dated but still beautiful and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Also the food was AMAZING!

What a lovely place to stay. Beautiful view of the ocean and easy access to it. Love the hotel pajamas. They are so comfortable. We rented a car and had a wonderful time exploring nearby areas and driving north. Also, we could go at our own pace and not worry about getting to the tours on time and feeling rushed through our experiences. We would love to stay here again if we return to Onna City. Very clean, great customer service, great amenities, spacious accommodations.

Beautiful location and the staff was outstanding. The building is weathered with cracks and stains on the walls of the interior and exterior. The beach was good, but there was a great deal of garbage along various parts of the sand.

The Orion hotel is in a great location. Unfortunately, while we visited, it was on the heels of typhoons, and so the beach area out front was closed off to swimming for cleanup, but we were able to snorkel nearby. One of the items that really surprised me was how fantastic the breakfast buffet was I’m not a breakfast person, but it provided an opportunity to try many different types of Okinawan food, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely recommend staying at this resort.

Great breakfast and dinner options as there are several restaurants. There was ample laundry facility on each floor and the beach was kept clean and organised. There were many water activities too. The animals were well taken care off.

I am American and my beach vacations are usually to Mexico. Please keep that in mind when reading my review as that is what I will compare most of it to. I am spoiled. If you are familiar with that type of resort, this will dissapoint you. 1. If you are expecting something nice and modern you will not get that here. This hotel is very outdated. The service is on par for a nicer hotel. The staff was 4/5, Actual hotel probably 2/5. The AC is very weak and Okinawa is hot and humid. The first night we were sweating and had to call for a fan. We left the ac running the next day and it was much more comfortable. Also the parking lot is far from the hotel. They do have a shuttle though. 2. The beach was fantastic. The water here is some of the best I've seen. Bahamas level or better. There are still some fish in the swimming area even though its netted off. 3. Expensive! This hotel was the most expensive of our entire Japan trip and probably the worst. Not only was the stay expensive but everything you wanted to do there cost extra and there was a huge mark up on drinks. I got used to paying under 500 yen for a beer in the mainland but here it was 1000 for one beer. Even 990 for a cola! I got used to Japan prices for the previous 10 days and then got sticker shock when I had to pay America type prices. I would not stay here again. Would just pay to use beach

The room was decent. Property was nice. Nothing ever seemed open. It was unfortunate that we had a typhoon warning during our stay. No where to sit and have a cocktail till later. The Japanese teppanyaki restaurant was insanely expensive and not very good. It’s really far from most everything which we didn’t realize until we got there so we opted out of our last night and booked a room by American Village. Staff was very nice though.
