The rooms were a bit tight. More importantly, not much space in the lobby to sit.

Good location. Two complaints: no internet. The hotel has it but there are “too many people using it” so I didn’t get an ounce for my whole stay which isn’t okay in this day and age. They couldn’t do anything about it or offer alternatives. The AC was temperamental. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t, which (given the current heat wave) did not help. Also worth noting there were construction works there at the time I stayed. A decent 3 star hotel.

This place exceeded my expectations. The staff was amazing and very helpful. The location is good with a short walk to the Wangfujing walking street. The features of the room can be controlled via a smartphone. I would definitely recommend and i would stay there again. Great value for the money.

We enjoyed our stay at Sofitel Beijing Central and would recommend it. Pros: 1. Location was excellent in the heart of Beijing. 2. Rooms are incredibly spacious with a large glass wall to view the city. 3. Luxurious bath towards the middle of the room was opulent! 4. Walk-in robe with auto-lighting 5. Very comfortable bed and pillows and super king size (we have king size at home) 6. Options for meals 7. Quiet Cons: 1. Service. In comparison to the Hyatt in Shenzhen we found reception a bit wanting; due to the sit down nature with clients and staff, wait times to talk to staff seemed over the top. However, the team looking after the elevators were extremely helpful and vigilant. We never had to wait for an elevator from the ground floor and the team directed us to the waiting elevator. 2. The lobby is a bit smaller compared to other hotels we've been to and sometimes there wasn't enough available seating; we ended up going straight to our rooms rather than being able to enjoy the facility. 3. Some things are a bit dated and could easily be replaced such as the large couch (ours had a stain and was tilted toward the front) and the bedhead (bit of wear and tear on the leather). A few of the wood-look tiles have lifted ever so slightly but noticeable enough for a top hotel. In saying that, I'm splitting hairs. We had a wonderful time and would stay here again. BTW: still waiting for the return of our deposit!
