Amatara has real charm and plenty to offer if you're willing to look past a few rough edges. The activities and things to do on-site are genuinely enjoyable — a highlight of the stay that keeps you engaged and gives the property a lot of personality. The staff truly stand out. They are warm, attentive, and go above and beyond to be helpful — especially when it comes to navigating the location. The estate isn't in the most convenient spot, but the team is proactive and supportive in making sure you're taken care of and pointed in the right direction, which goes a long way. That said, the property's condition leaves something to be desired. For the price point and the promise of the brand, the overall upkeep could be significantly better. Cleanliness, in particular, fell short of expectations — it's something that really should be a baseline at a property like this, and it was noticeably lacking in places. The location is ideal if you're looking serenity, calm,l and relaxation. Overall: A stay at Amatara Barl Estate is a mixed experience. The great staff and fun activities create genuinely good memories, but the property needs to invest more seriously in maintenance and cleanliness to live up to its potential. in the resort i thought at least the fruits and juice will be terrific, but instead it was horrible, the breakfast fruits has few options and looks terrible. and the juice in the AZURE beach club i have ordered different juices for the past few days was also horrible, taste like it was filled with water, taste dull. that was a real down side. another down side was asking the hotel to reserve a taxi , of course we can always order a GRAB car for ourselves, but when in early mornings when there might be no grab we needed to reserve a taxi which the hotel said it must be reserved 30 minutes ahead, which was fine. but when we reserveed the taxi 30 minutes ahead and waited for our car, and 30 minutes past and they just told us there are no taxi so we have to take the hotel cab which is 2 times expensive than a taxi and we have to take it because we needed to catch the plane. i thought that was a little like robbery.

Throughout my stay, Jenny consistently went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were met and that I had a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Her warm and welcoming attitude made me feel valued as a guest, and her attention to detail was truly remarkable. Jenny demonstrated an exceptional level of professionalism, always greeting me with a smile and promptly addressing any inquiries or requests I had. Furthermore, I would like to highlight the exceptional privacy standards maintained by your hotel. I greatly appreciated the high level of privacy and security provided, which significantly contributed to my overall satisfaction during my stay. While I thoroughly enjoyed my time at your hotel, I would like to bring to your attention a minor issue regarding the inconsistency of water pressure in the shower. There were instances where the water temperature fluctuated between hot and cold, which could be improved to ensure a more comfortable showering experience. I believe that addressing this issue will further enhance the already outstanding facilities and services provided by your establishment. In conclusion, I cannot express my gratitude enough for the impeccable service delivered by Jenny and the overall excellence of your hotel. I would like to extend my commendation to her and acknowledge her as a valuable asset to your team. The resort is already open for 45 years, which is the oldest resort in Maldives. Yet old doesn’t mean old fashioned or not being competitive, their flexible operation really brought us a wonderful trip in Maldives. You may not like to listen to the sound when the aircraft passes by cuz it is very close to airport, it makes you more than satisfactory in other ways. It’s a nice yacht to drive u from airport to the resort. The staff is nice when showing u around with a golf car. Everyone is helpful in the resort. Originally we should have only booked 4 nights, yet hk was having typhoon and we have no choice but to delay our flight. We were so frustrated of not be able to find a place to stay. Yet the resort assured us immediately by saying we could extend the nights even we are not sure how many nights we need to extend. They did their best to correspond our arrangement and allow us to pay the rent after our stay. They will organise some complimentary event for the guests like yoga class, painting class or even cocktail party for free... they may not be the most beautiful, spectacular resort in maldives but they are no doubt the warmest staff i have ever met! Really appreciate your hospitality
