Quiet, comfortable, and clean place to stay. The hotel is located by the port and has a nice view. Parking was easy. The breakfast buffet was limited in variety, but it had some local cuisine.

Ocean view room and near seaside attractions.

This is something of an interesting and different setup in that this ryokan is contained within a larger hotel, the Art Hotel Kokura New Tagawa, which is where you check in. It's something of a best of both worlds, as you have the comfort and style of a traditional inn, supported by all the amenities and staff of a modern-style hotel. I opted to include the Kaiseki Tasting menu for dinner, and it's something that was absolutely amazing - definitely include this option! Breakfast was amazing as well. The room I stayed in was large and spacious (technically a suite as it had separate sleeping and sitting rooms), and though there was not a public bath, there was a very nice private bath in the suite. The sitting room opens up to a screened patio/porch bordering on the Japanese garden, for a lovely and tranquil view. A wonderful place to stay and experience, and one I would definitely recommend.

Great location.probably the closest hotel to the station. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Clean .room has all the amenities

The property was in pristine condition in the lobby and in the rooms and the elevator area. It’s nearly connected to the station, so it’s perfect access. The food was wonderful as well.

Wonderful Onsen bath, friendly staff and yummy bowl of ramen compliments of the hotel.
