Area is a little weird but the property is nice

I was disappointed. The property was under construction and didn’t really give off a nice resort vibe. The rooms are old, had a few problems but were resolved with the maintenance crew coming. If it wasn’t for a friend of mine explaining that before the construction, there was many shops in the lobby areas and easier to access from the street, I don’t think I would return. I am willing to give it another chance, only because of the great location and prime beach access, in hopes rhat we return when construction is over. The staff was always friendly, so that’s great. The only other thing was it kind of sucked to be charged a resort fee per day, when there was really not a resort vibe with all the construction.

The room was great and we loved the beach access. Less than 15 minutes from Waikiki!

Great property, location, staff, upkeep, room etc. This is a pricey choice but in my opinion we got our money's worth. All rooms are good size and very updated and have balconies. Staff was attentive, water was provided daily as well as some small goodies. The beach is very small but other beaches are close. The location is spot on Waikiki, an easy walk to the main street and all its amenities, tour busses, restaurants etc.

Love the pool area but it is sometimes hard to find seats together. Would recommend removing a portion of the rarely used reserved seats and adding more regular seats.

Staff super friendly, beds really comfortable too many kids in jacuzzi, carpets needs upgrading, they do not answer their phones calling room service or front desk daily. Few other concerns yet overall a nice stay. Close to everything had a nice stay.

Everything was fine. The beach is so overcrowded and the pool is too. The pool is very small. The beach is public so tons of people. Everything is an upcharge, we very much felt things were expensive even by Hawaii standards. Service and meals at the restaurants were very good, especially lunch. The room didn’t get cleaned til like 5:00 every day but it was ok. The spa was very nice and the outdoor huts for massages were so very nice. Overall I don’t think Royal Hawaiian should be among the expensive hotels anymore. It’s dated and needs renovating. But it is a pretty place.
