Everything was great but the AC was not cold at all. I understand the weather was very hot and humid but something should be done to be able to cool down the rooms a bit more. It was set to the lowest which was 18 C I think, but the lowest we got it was to 25 C.

This was our first time to Casa Velas. We liked how everything looked. It has beautiful landscaping and it is maintained very well. We were greeted warmly and everyone we passed always met us with a smile, a greeting, and a hand placed over their heart. The entire staff is genuinely gracious and kind. Many team members went out of their way to accommodate us which we appreciated. The restaurant service and the food were outstanding. I ate so much! I even requested chorizo added into my chilaquiles and eggs Benedict and the chef made great dishes with it. Even the appetizers (salad, soup, and caprese) were delicious. In fact, I ordered both the Cesar salad and the Tropical Caprese along with my dinner because I couldn't decide on which one to get. There was also a wide variety of drinks available at the restaurant, Pool side bar, and Lobby Bar. The Beach Club (their property outside of the hotel) had great service too and their Tostada Zen was so good that we had 3 of them. A shout out to some of the employees that we encountered were Sarahi and Miguel at the front desk, Ramon and Antonio at the pool bar, and Omar, Gerardo, and Ulises at their restaurant. It is employees like the ones I mentioned above that make us want to return. Not only is their hotel beautiful but they have team members who are the ones who make the experience worth it.

This place caters to you like no other. The food is amazing, the staff is very attentive, housekeeping is awesome, my kids insisted on going to their kids club just about every day, and my wife enjoyed her time at the spa. They do try and sell you on their membership program, but they don’t push it. We never had an issue after we told them we were not interested.
