She picked up the phone right away and told me that she has been so worried for me (she only had my contact information from my home country, not from the US). We drove back to pick up my package. “This was the perfect house for us. We especially loved the separate bedroom for our son to stay in. It was a fully stocked kitchen and a nice grill so we cooked in every night. The hot tub was great too! Mindi and John are wonderful hosts with top notch communication. The location was perfect for exploring the National Park and surrounding areas. The pictures just don't do this place justice, it's way cooler!”

“During our short stay we were able to visit Volcanoes National Park, the Green Sand Beach close to South Point, go night snorkeling with Manta Rays in Kona, visit several beaches, and even drive up Mauna Kea on our last day in Big Island (night flight) - we could not have achieved this and more without staying in such a perfectly placed location, one with unique landscape on its doorstep (the local history of lava flows was truly fascinating). “The only regret i have about our stay is that with all the exploring we did at the volcano, we really didn’t have time to linger on the deck. The outside deck was worth every penny of the rental….surrounded by trees, lots of seating, a firepit and the background sounds of birds and frogs. It felt like we were in a treehouse. “After attending a wedding and staying at a resort at the northwest side of the island, we decided to try the opposite side. Very comfortable location overlooking a golf course. Even played a few holes. Very short drive to Volcano National Park where we spent quite a bit of time. Home was very clean, well equipped and owners were very accommodating. Very relaxing location. I highly recommend this location and would definitely come back if I was to stay in the area.”

“Beautiful, peaceful location just minutes away from the Volcanoes National Park entrance. Road access is unpaved and little dicey so a bigger SUV is helpful. Clean and well decorated interior and tons of flowers and birds just outside the windows. We had a pair of friendly pheasants who stopped by in the mornings. Beds are comfy and it has all the amenities you need! Unfortunately the hot tub was out of commission during our visit - but it would be perfect after hiking around the park! Owners……

“Lovely home close to National Park. It was very clean and welcoming and an ideal locale for exploring Volcano and Puna area. Close enough to Hilo if you don’t mind a bit of an (easy) drive. House itself has a great covered wraparound porch for coffee in am and relaxing at end of day; listening to birds and light rain noises- with the occassional barking of dogs.
