「Basic townhouse with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Can walk to downtown Ferndale. Am very annoyed about the large damage deposit which was charged when I booked months ago and then took nearly 2 weeks to be refunded. Owner says it's up to VRBO. How about a hold at check in?」

「We traveled to Detroit to see the Black Crowes show at the Fillmore and spend a weekend together with family. Our stay at the Lumber Baron's Mansion was phenomenal. The location is excellent for any/all downtown activities and there's plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our host was extremely responsive and provided very clear communication. The interior was beautiful and well equipped. Highly recommended, will stay here again!」

「This place was great for our sister weekend! Everything very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Host was receptive to questions beforehand and answered quickly. We enjoyed Mexican food at El Camino nearby. If we are in the area again we will definitely consider another stay!!」

「Locating the property was pretty easy and there was ample parking. The building itself is a bit older and is showing its age on the outside and inside. You can tell the host is in the process of trying to upgrade some things, but it doesn't impair any functionality. Unless i am booking a resort, where the room is the destination and focus of the trip, I am looking for safety, quiet, and sleep. This delivered all three of those things. 「I cannot rate this place high enough. The owner was most generous and kind…even suggested an excellent spot, Toast, for breakfast. The condo itself was welcoming with every possible detail covered! We slept like babies! She quiet! We loved our time in Royal Oak and the location was a perfect little drive to Comerica park for a Tigers game!」

「We stayed here for 2 weeks for business and it worked out great. Having a garage was a big plus with the snow we had while we’re there. The carpet and walls are showing their age, but the townhouse was well equipped! Great communication from the host.」

「Stayed here with a group of friends for a wedding and enjoyed all the amenities the loft had to offer. The neighborhood is a little rough but that does not come through in the quality of the lodgings. Would stay again!」

「This place was terrible. Should never have been listed. Ceilings dirty, previously wet and sagging. Carpet ripped and FILTHY. Horrible patchwork pink paint covering dirt and graffiti in the hallway. Host never responded with entry information. It was all bad. Vrbo did set me up in a hotel for 3 of my 5 nights then I had to find lodging for the rest of my stay Awaiting my refund for that.」

「This apartment was vintage and completely clean. The apartment can include a romantic theme for couples, as well as, a quiet stay for friends or small family. The Host is also a great aid and extremely nice. 👌 」

「Newly renovated was the only positive. Wasn’t upfront about the plugged toilet and tried to mask the smell by locking the door and putting bleach in the bottom of the dishwasher and Lysol. Was promised 2 bathrooms and 4 adults from different families had to use one. A charge of garbage disposal for $50 We were from a different country - where is the garbage going to go. Back to Canada 🇨🇦」

「We had plans all over the metro Detroit area, so this worked well as our place to settle in for the night! The place is quiet and very well stocked. HUGE TV in the 2nd bedroom, which impressed my hubby :) All 3 beds were different surfaces (1 was memory foam), so you should find one that fits your sleep comfort. Thanks for making our 1st time using VRBO so easy and pleasant!」
