“Pleasant location, nice room and view. A pity about the rather dark and battered - definitely not English- furniture. Why do so many hotels in a historic building go to the far east for poor copies of antique items ? Plugs in awkward positions as well. However reasonable value for money.”

They even made us a platter of cheese and crackers. The parking was very good, access to the pub was a little difficult due to the many staircases one had to use to get to our room. “Right from setting foot in the place, we were made to feel very welcome. We were shown to our room, even though we arrived three hours early and only wanted to see if we could drop off our bags. An ideal location for the Malton food festival. The only real issue we had was no parking, due to the festival. This issue was easily resolved by using a certain app to rent a local drive for the night. We were constantly asked if we needed anything and if things were ok with our stay. Very friendly……
