I suggest requesting a room with a view of these mountains as opposed to the other side that looks towards Mount First. That side isn't bad, but the view towards Eiger and Monch is fantastic. The hotel staff are wonderful, the food is fantastic (the best steak that we have ever had!), and the location is ideal (bus stop is in the parking lot ski in ski out when there is snow). "My room had a nice balcony and an excellent view of the mountains from the second floor. The breakfast here is also nice with a lot of options. The staff at the reception and restaurant (Melissa) were super nice. They were happy to offer tips about where to go and what to see. The owner/caretaker even offered a ride to the railway station since we had luggage and it was raining. Awesome people. Highly recommended. "

"Lovely preserved hotel that brings you back in time right in the middle of Lauterbrunnen. Part of the front of the hotel was used in the James Bond movie “Her Majesty’s Secret Service” back in the 1960’s. The scenery from the hotel terrace and front patio is spectacular! However, I strongly suggest booking a larger room and not the single room for 1. It was tiny and I struggled with fitting an open suitcase on the floor. The bathroom was even tinier and if you are over 6’ - you will be hunched...
