"We wanted to stay at “lodge” instead of hotel/motels. So it was perfect!! Check-in is done at the restaurant. It was smooth. The guy (owner? manager?) was nice and efficient. He was multitasking between the lodge & restaurant. The room is renovated & nice. Exactly what we wanted. Bed was comfortable & sheets were clean. Bathroom was a bit smaller size & ventilation was not good. So mirror had anti-fog thing & it was great!! My friend was seriously thinking of implementing it in her house! Parking was easy as our cabin was located near the restaurant. If you get a cabin on the hill, you have to drive steep hills. The restaurant was excellent!! My friend is from NYC and I’m from Chicago & we are foodies. First of all, the service was friendly with professionalism and attentive. Food was wonderful. We tried game meat sampler. We split this main course as we had late lunch. We got one portion each of salad which comes with the entree. Then sampler was plated in 2 portions!! What a care & service!! We fully enjoyed this meal over wine for her and beer & bourbon for me. (By the way, great beverage selection!) We had to take early flight out, but we could have stayed 2 nights & we want to come back. (Maybe I can come back with my husband…) One minor thing to improve is noise. There was a very noisy mini-refrigerator in the room. Also, depending on where your bed is you could hear conversations/snoring from next door. I always have earplugs, so it was nothing."

"The staff here are super friendly and kind. The complimentary breakfast was adequate, but not extravagent. We stayed in the least expensive room type and it did have a bit of a mildew smell and both of the bedside lamps did not work, but it was clean and felt safe. Overall, I'd say it was decent for the price and SUPER CLOSE to Mount Rushmore and easy walking distance from lots of great Keystone activities, shops and food. I would definitely stay there again, all things considered."
