"This property was absolutely epic. Extremely fast communication, gorgeous house and delicious dinner coordinated during a time when most things are shut. Mari and her team were so great. We regretted we didn't have more than one night to enjoy this picturesque village and perfect house. It surpassed all expectations. My group was 6 family members and we stayed at 8 different places all over Japan for a two week adventure and all 6 agreed this property ranked #1 of all. Can't wait to return and...
"This is a family run ryokan business by the Kouda family. We booked a house / villa that is with attached bath and toilets. It is a very traditional house with renovated bath & toilet and owners are friendly and accommodating . Location is not very accessible if you don't drive but they fetched us from wachi station as the ryokan is located 30 mins from local train. Would strongly recommend if you want a local ryokan stay experience."
"Simple basic room that matches the price you are quoted.
Relatively/Overall clean though the floor has some stickiness.
Things in the room works as expected."
"It was easy to find from the station, breakfast was good, the public bath was good ( you do need to strip down to your birthday suite), the room was good except the bed it was one step up from sleeping on the hard ground."

"This is a very local non touristy village. We enjoyed the hospitality (even if we couldn’t communicate)
The owner helped accomadate my sea food allergy. We really liked the hot bath available in the beautiful water. The only thing I would say is that it isn’t close to anything and you have to walk about 22 minutes to the train "
"The staff is amazing. The environment is just a really awesome experience. If you are wanting to get away from the city, I would definitely recommend here."

"This is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are a little dated by current standards but the view and the staff make up for that.
The dining experience was great and the hostess was so helpful and genuine. The food was excellent.
We when on the morning cruise with departed from the lakefront of the hotel. The hotel provides a breakfast bento to eat while you cruise.
So happy we stayed here.

"If you are looking for a remote lake get away in northern Otsu this is ideal. This location suits the out door adventure types who want to be away from Otsu city. The lake was an amazing place to swim. What also would be a Great Lake side party atmosphere and relaxation with a group of friends. Amazing cleanliness despite the overall facility being quite old. However rooms and common room air conditioned which was a life saver in the hight of a Japanese summer.
The Hostel is not located near any shops and not close to the train station so be prepared to do some serious walking or better rent a bike whilst you are there."
