EyeEm Custom Shoots Q4 2018

Once you’ve attended a concert at Dublin’s superb O2, there’s no going back to theatre-style venues where the seating is arranged in regular rows. The audience and artist friendly design of the O2 amphitheatre is often likened to that of Rome’s Coliseum, with blocks of seats emanating out like a great fan from the impressive stage.

The O2 is the biggest indoor venue in the Republic of Ireland, with a capacity of 14,500, reducing down to 9,500 for those occasions when the front rows of a gig simply have to be a moshpit!

Completely redeveloped from the existing Point Theatre venue in 2008, there’s no missing this illuminated, iconic building by the riverside in the heart of Dublin’s Docklands.

Before you head off to Dublin, be sure and check out its forthcoming attractions, which range from the world’s greatest rock and soul acts to classical music, magical extravaganzas and sporting events such as WWE wrestling.

Alternatively, why not plan your Dublin trip in advance and base it around the O2 appearance of your Irish musical hero – Van Morrison, U2 or Boyzone, anyone?

Because of the high numbers of music fans attracted to the venue, it’s best to travel to the O2 by public transport. A Luas light rail service stops in the square right in front of the arena, as do regular city buses and coaches direct from Dublin Airport. Drivers should check out the ferry and shuttle bus options from Point Village on the O2 website.
